Mechanical Test Engineer - Sensor/DAQ (4-10 yrs)
Responsibilities :
- Technically lead and execute reliability testing of a variety of Electro-mechanical products; responsibilities include setting product Reliability Goals, FMEA, developing test plans, planning and test execution, prepare Reliability Test Reports, perform Failure Analysis and recommend Corrective Actions.
- Hands-on design and development of highly customized electro-mechanical test benches
- Problem identification and hands-on troubleshooting of a wide range of engineering problems.
- Determine reliability test requirements, integrate test rigs and execute reliability tests to deliver end to end reliability test solutions. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Communicate effectively with global cross-functional teams (at different time zones) to seek stakeholder feedback and buy-in.
Job Specific Knowledge :
- Must have hands-on experience in lab testing and automation.
- Automation experience (e.g. LabVIEW) is a plus
- Application of reliability engineering (Reliability goal setting, FMECA, FTA, RBD, Reliability Prediction, MTBF Calculation, Weibull Distribution and Reliability Growth) is a must
- Must have hands-on experience with sensors (e.g. temperature, pressure, flow, vibration, motion detection etc.) and data acquisition systems (DAQ)
- Experience in destructive and non-destructive failure analysis, including characterization / root cause analysis of failures
- Knowledge of Parts Characterization and Sensitivity analysis is a plus.
- Design for Reliability knowledge/experience is preferable.
- Knowledge of Materials, Mechanical components and related Failure Mechanisms / Physics of failure.
- Experience in Semiconductor equipment industry is preferable
- Knowledge of statistical methods, Design of Experiments (DOE) and Design for Reliability (DfR).
Qualifications Skills :
- Hands-on individual with willingness to work in lab environment
- Ability to design and develop highly customized test rigs
- Strong skills in problem solving. Knowledge of quality tools is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate globally and across various cultural backgrounds
- Ability to independently prioritize tasks and keep local and global stake-holders informed on a regular basis
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% (international and domestic)
Education : B.Tech in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering with 4-10 years of relevant experience CRE Certification preferred
