Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechatronics Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team focused on the design and development of advanced laboratory liquid handling devices. This role is ideal for an engineer with a passion for precision automation and a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software integration- especially in compliance with regulatory standards (such as ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, or related industry norms).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, prototype, and develop automated liquid handling systems, including pipetting robots, dispensers, and microfluidic platforms.
- Integrate mechanical components, sensors, actuators, and embedded systems for seamless device performance.
- Collaborate with software, electrical, and biomedical engineers to ensure proper functionality, accuracy, and reliability of devices.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for product design and validation.
- Conduct risk assessments and design reviews to ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards.
- Support verification and validation testing, including IQ/OQ/PQ processes.
- Ensure design documentation meets industry and company compliance requirements (e.g., GMP, ISO, FDA).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during development and after deployment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and best practices.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in the design and development of lab automation or medical/life science devices.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor).
- Knowledge of motion control systems, stepper/servo motors, fluidics, and sensor integration.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and basic programming (e.g., C/C++, Python, or LabVIEW).
- Experience with prototyping and testing lab automation devices.
- Understanding of precision mechanics and mechatronic system design.
Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA regulations, CE marking, and risk management practices (ISO 14971).
- Experience creating and maintaining design history files (DHFs), technical files, and other documentation in a regulated environment.

- Experience with laboratory automation platforms (e.g., Tecan, Hamilton).
- Exposure to microfluidics or lab-on-chip technologies.
- Familiarity with cleanroom standards or manufacturing practices for life sciences.
