Mining Forman (4-10 yrs)
A Mining Mate is responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of mining operations.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in mining operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Oversight: Monitor and enforce safety protocols, regulations, and standard operating procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
3. Quality Control: Monitor and control the quality of minerals or materials extracted, ensuring they meet specified standards.
4. Communication: Liaise with other crew members, supervisors, and management to coordinate operations, report incidents, and provide feedback.
5. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of mining activities, including production data, safety incidents, and equipment maintenance.
6. Environmental Management: Ensure that mining operations are conducted in an environmentally responsible manner.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Mining experience: 4+ years of experience in mining operations.
2. Mining Mate certificate from the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS)
3. Mechanical aptitude: Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.
4. Communication skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze problems and implement solutions.
6. Physical fitness: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
7. Adaptability: Willingness to work in a dynamic environment, with changing priorities and deadlines.
Work Environment:
1. Mining site: Work on a mining site.
2. Shift work: Work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
