Occupational Hygiene/Industrial Hygiene (5-10 yrs)
- To promote occupational hygiene programme in compliance with GSK standards to mitigate risks associated with it
- Develop and lead an occupational hygiene programme that reduces current ergonomics, noise and chemical risks at the site
- Work with senior managers to ensure that occupational hygiene risks are considered and adequately addressed in new engineering projects, new product introductions and product transfers
- Champion and support compliance with GSK standards in collaboration with site and above site functions
- Plan for the future by identifying and managing the key occupational hygiene aspects (e.g. ergonomics, noise and chemical exposure control,) of site master plan, engineering projects, and major capital spends.
- Provide occupational hygiene support to site including Ergonomics,
- ergonomic and chemical risk assessments,
- work to select most appropriate controls to reduce exposures to acceptable levels;
- support the implementation plan for controls where appropriate;
- provide training, advice on work practices, equipment set up (eg computer work stations) PPE selection, etc as required;
- set targets and track progress in exposure control to ultimately reach a ;shirt sleeve environment- ; and
- Provide flexible support to multiple sites to facilitate compliance and continuous improvement.
- Provide specialist occupational hygiene advice to support new product introductions
- Liaison with above site experts to manage key risks to health
- Co-ordinate the sharing of good practices within the region, and collaborate with the GSK occupational hygiene network to promote best practices GSK wide
- Co-ordinate and align occupational hygiene projects with the other key programmes in the region
- Develop and maintain collegial and effective contacts with other central functions, sites and relevant external bodies
- Develop/contribute to occupational hygiene training programmes
- Support and provide EHS audit action closure as required
- Train and support site based technicians who undertake routine sampling and ergonomic teams with assessment and solution implementation
- Support third party supplier and contractors on an as needs basis
