Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Offshore Structural Engineer to design, analyze, and oversee the structural integrity of offshore oil and gas facilities including platforms, subsea structures, and topsides. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in structural engineering, offshore codes and standards, and experience in the lifecycle of offshore oil and gas projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design of offshore platforms (fixed, floating), jackets, topsides, subsea structures, and related equipment.
- Prepare detailed engineering deliverables including calculations, reports, and construction drawings.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes (API, ISO, DNV, AISC, etc.) and client specifications.
- Conduct structural integrity assessments, in-place, fatigue, seismic, and load-out analyses.
- Support fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities with engineering expertise.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, piping, naval architecture).
- Perform site visits and offshore surveys as needed.
- Use structural analysis software such as SACS, STAAD.Pro, SESAM, or ANSYS.
- Participate in risk assessments and safety reviews (HAZID, HAZOP). Provide technical input during FEED, detailed design, and EPC phases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/ or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in offshore structural engineering (design or analysis), with minimum 5 years in design of offshore structures.
- Familiarity with offshore structures: jackets, topsides, FPSOs, subsea templates, etc.
- Strong knowledge of offshore codes and standards.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software tools, SACS a must.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience with brownfield modifications and structural retrofits.
- Knowledge of dynamic analysis, riser analysis, or mooring systems.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling and BIM tools (PDMS, E3D, Tekla Structures).
- Previous experience working with major offshore operators or EPC contractors.
