Operations Head - Experimental Fluid Dynamics Services (12-15 yrs)
- Our client has built a reputation of being a full service fluids consultancy company with expertise in CFD & DEM Analysis, Experimental Testing and Software Development.
- Experimental Fluid Dynamics based services group is one of the fastest growing groups of our client. The primary goal of this group is to provide experimental results and analysis services to a wide range of customers in Oil & Gas sector.
- The group focuses on erection of new flow loops and execution of experiments using them. At present following industrial loops are in operation.
High Vsl Erosion Loop -
Low Vsl Erosion Loop -
Wax Loop 4 inch -
Wax Loop 2 inch -
16 inch Multi phase and Sand Transport Loop -
Oil Water Loop
- Experimental activities range from measurement of pressure drop in simple single phase fluid flows to multi phase flows with oil-water or oil-water-sand, etc. In addition measurements, Flow Visualization is a key focus area. The time lines can range from two/ three month long projects to even multi year programs.
- The loop construction is executed in phases and the first phase is about 2 to 3 months long.
- Our client use a wide range of tools and techniques for measurement and visualization - Pressure Guages, Manometers, Pressure Transducers, Flow Meters, Ultra Sound based probes, Wire Mesh Sensors, UVP measurements, Lasers, etc
- Our client looking for a hands-on problem solver who can lead & inspire a team of scientists and technicians, communicate effectively with management and build trust with international customers on the team's ability to deliver per plan.
- Customers are typically Ph.D. engineers based in US or Europe many of whom are leading scientists in their areas of expertise. The individual needs to be passionate about science and problem solving.
Key responsibilities :
- Overall Management of EFD Laboratory operations.
- Drive Laboratory performance program through implementation of good laboratory practices.
- Understand objectives of a given experimental project from client thus managing the R&D Engineers, technicians efficiently working on the projects. -
- Plan and execute projects within promised timescales and deliverable. -
- Control the budgets and make sure that the projects fit within the allocated pool. -
- Working with vendors, external suppliers and contractors as needed to ensure cost control and avoid lapses. - Optimum utilization of people resources, more with less is the mantra
Education and Experience:
Must :
- PhD in Chemical/Mechanical engineering with about Ten years of experience in EFD based measurements and Lab execution.
- M.Tech in Chemical/Mechanical with about Fifteen years of experience in EFD based measurements and Lab execution.
Experience :
- 12 to 15 years of total experience out of which at least 3 to 5 years of experience in managing overall Laboratory Operations of small/midsize laboratory or pilot plants.
Desired Skills :
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Presentation & Vendor Management skills
- Able to work well underpressure
- Need impeccable leadership and supervision skills, a strong work ethic, familiarity with budgeting and understand industry-specificterminology, rules and regulations -
- Management Proficiency is added advantage
- Hands on experience in Equipment Maintenance,Training, Analyzing Information etc
