Key areas of work include :

- Managing pricing with the help of vendor discussions, competitive intelligence, etc to ensure best support for the Sales & Marketing teams

- Identification and development of a large vendor base, as per the needs of the category

- Negotiations with vendors to get the best deals in terms of both pricing and support

- Research and analysis to understand the catalog requirements for all sub-categories in detail

- Managing the cataloging team to ensure continuous and rapid onboarding of new vendors/products on to the platform

- Management of website content and categorization to provide the best-in-class content consumption experience to the customers

- Strategic vendor management to evangelize the concept amongst the vendor base and to prepare them for a pure-play marketplace model in due course of time.

- Category depth (number of products covered) would be the primary outcome area for this role

What will help you do a good job :

Experience :

- At least 2 years experience in Category management/ Vendor management/ Catalog management roles in any industry would be a big plus. Other related experiences may also be good to have. Freshers excuse.

Skill sets :

- Excellent communication skills & ability to learn quickly

- High levels of perseverance and persuasiveness

- Great analytical skills

Educational Qualifications : An MBA from a premier institute or an undergraduate with relevant experience from IITs,NIT, etc
