Pipe Stress Engineer (5-8 yrs)
Location - Mumbai, India
Job Purpose:
- To support its growth, John Cockerill Energy Solutions, headquartered in Belgium, is opening an office in Mumbai, and is hiring a Pipe Stress Engineer.
- The Pipe Stress Engineer is an employee in charge of the pipe stress analysis of the products of the Energy Business of John Cockerill. Main products are HRSG's (Heat Recovery Steam Generators), IB's (Industrial Boilers) and MSSR's (Molten Salt Solar Receiver).
- He/She executes the detailed pipe stress engineering during project execution from the award of an order to the provisional acceptance of the equipment. The Pipe Stress Engineer is particularly responsible to ensure that the pipe stress analysis of the product is compliant to applicable codes and norms, to the contractual technical specifications and to internal standards as defined in the Design Process according to the QMS (quality management system) of the Energy Business.
- Pipe Stress Engineer is responsible for the pipe stress analysis of products for proposals and project execution under the hierarchical responsibility of the Pipe Stress Manager and the functional responsibility of the Proposal Engineer or the Technical Project Manager with the following objectives:
- Customer satisfaction,
- Conformance to applicable codes and norms, contractual scope of supply, Customer's technical specifications, internal standards, and local regulations,
- Quality, conformity, and completeness of the technical documentation,
- Respect of document delivery schedules,
- Optimization of the design,
- Control of internal and external interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
The duties of the Pipe Stress Engineer are amongst others:
- Application of the Design Process,
- Pipe stress analysis of products for the proposals of the Energy Sector of John Cockerill,
- Detailed pipe stress analysis of Piping systems during project execution,
- Issue of calculation reports,
- Optimization of the design,
- Conformity of the technical documentation to applicable codes and norms,
- Respect of Customer specifications and requirements,
- Technical risks assessments,
- Application of internal standards and good practices,
- Delivery of the technical documentation to the Project Team according to the project schedule and within the specified budget.
Education & Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience within an engineering context.
- B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

- Technical skills related to products (thermal, mechanical design)

- Knowledge of the MS Office, particularly Excel
