Responsibilities

- Direct the manufacturing operation plan and business activities for the achievement of short and long term operating and profit objectives.

- Provide leadership and set goals and objectives for the plant based on corporate goals and customer needs.

- Liaise with senior management as required to ensure production plans meet business needs

- Provide overall direction and management of manufacturing, including personnel, technological resources and assets.

- Maintain necessary contact with major suppliers, customers, industry associations and government representatives to achieve the objectives of the division and anticipated competitiveness.

- Meet with regulatory agencies and monitor all permits to ensure no violations. Be conversant with the permit reporting and record keeping requirements and ensure these are up to date and available on site.

- Ensure activities related to the function comply with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards. Maintain Plant standards and accreditations such as Food Safety, HACCP, plant quality and hygiene standards

- Lead the Site Safety initiative. Participate in Safety committee meetings, ensure People Based Safety is entrenched and ensure corrective action required from annual safety baseline audits is implemented.

- Oversee the creation of production schedules, drawing up a production schedule. Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.

- Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs. Implementation of an effective production by Liaising among different departments

- Monitor incoming barley quality, to ensure an adequate raw material supply to meet production needs. Communicate barley quality or inventory problems to the Management.

- Ensure production and shipments are on time within specifications as set by customers. Oversee the analysis of production and shipping results.

- Ensuring that the production is cost effective by Supervising and motivating workers . Develop and track improvement in reduction of planned Overtime hours

- Ensure coaching and development of resources to meet business objectives

- Coordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedure for all production operations

- Conduct plant production meetings with employees, and review plant results with all employees on a monthly basis.

- Maintain capital and operational budgets. Prepare budgets for manufacturing labor and supplies.

- Review monthly budget and manage cash flow monthly to evaluate production results and deviations. Review and prioritize cost estimates for projects. Ensure expenditure remains within budget. Conduct regular budget review meetings with operating departments, communicating meeting results to the Management. Submit proposals for cost savings and efficiency opportunities.

- Optimize resource utilization by Working out the human and material resources needed

- Estimating costs and setting the quality standards
