Plant Manager - Steel (20-25 yrs)
Job Title : Plant Manager
Department : Operations/Maintenance/Projects & Administration
Reporting To : BOD/GM
Reported by : HOD's & Engineers
Academic Qualifications : BE - Metallurgy/Mechanical
Experience : 20 - 25 years in Steel Mills
Age Bar : 45 yrs (max)
Desired Qualities :
1. Working experience must in mini/integrated steel plants
2. Thorough knowledge of coal based DRI plant, steel making, hot rolling of long
3. Well conversant with International quality standards and common procedures of steel industry
4. Should have worked in the capacity of plant head for 6 - 8 years in steel industry
5. Man-material management, inventory control, assessment and planning of spares and consumables for plant operations
6. Should have knowledge of project execution / plant commissioning
7. Liaison with procurement, logistics and suppliers for follow up of raw materials and consumables
8. Excellent communication skills, Generation of MIS, consumption and production reports as required by the Management
9. Optimization of resources, steel making and rolling practices
10. Should be conversant with latest maintenance practices followed globally in steel industry
11. Self-starter / motivated, should be able to lead the team with initiatives and comply with Management policies
12. Overseas exposure must
Responsibilities :
1. Forecasting requirements of raw materials, consumables and critical spares for plant operations
2. Coordinate and supervise operations, maintenance, dispatch, transport and stores activities
3. Planning production activities as per targets and business plan
4. Review and requisite manpower for production department
5. Estimating cost parameters in work area and control
6. Reviewing and Planning Preventive Maintenance Schedule based on Breakdown trends, productivity Improvement, Safety Requirements
7. Developing a team of competent Staff, Technicians and work force
8. Maintaining safe level of inventory of Raw Materials and consumables for Operations
9. Supervision and coordination for Resources and raw materials
10. Maintaining manpower discipline and enforcing management policies
11. Ensure planned KPI's of efficiency and performance are met or exceeded
12. Coordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedure for all production centers
13. Manage and meet the prescribed procedures to ensure overall quality of product and customer satisfaction
14. Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives
15. Working with other managers to implement the company's policies and goals
16. Ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed and implemented
