Process Automation Engineer - Chemical/Mechanical (1-7 yrs)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Partner with formulation/API and process engineering teams through hands on efforts in Developing detailed product and process understanding at lab/pilot scales on various complex products using a combination of basic chemical engineering principles, process modeling, PAT tools, QbD & risk assessment approaches, leading to better process robustness & manufacturability while meeting the delivery timelines
- Translating learning to plant level scale-up trials by partnering with - Go to Plant- teams
- Provide technical guidance based on scientific rigor to the team as a proactive problem solver
- Process enhancements: Ability to identify improvements in terms of technology, engineering enhancements to improve process robustness of key products
- Industrial Automation and Control System Security Compliance
Partner with ITBPE and undertake periodic security assessment to ensure compliance with ISA99.
- Support Productivity Improvement Initiatives
- Scale up, Batch Recipe Transfers and Batch Simulation, Continuous Process Verification (CPV) -Tools for tracking of Equipment Performance/Reliability
- Verification of Automation Control Strategies & Support New Manufacturing Technology Adoption
- Control Loops, Product/In-process material transfers, Equipment acquisition/release, Batch Recipes and OEE Report developments.
- New installation and commissioning support
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors/ Master's degree from a recognized university in one of the following disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, with significant experience in plant operations ; minimum GPA 7.5 and above
- Proficient with Python including Pandas, NumPy and Scikit-learn. Open Source Timeseries Databases, SQL, No SQL Databases
- Process modelling - Ability to translate process engineering knowledge into appropriately-detailed models using commercial flow sheet simulation software (steady-state as well as dynamic). Balances level of detail vs. robustness and solution speed. Formulation, solution, validation, and analysis of constrained data reconciliation and economic optimization problems. Knowledge of equation-based modelling techniques is a plus.
- Process control - Sound understanding of base layer and advanced process control and the impact of control system structure and status on the behaviour of process units.
- Proven record of delivering process engineering technical services and support to end-users. Understanding of technical software development, from concept through requirements setting, design and build phases.
- Proficiency in Steady-State modelling and Real-Time Optimization using one or more of PRO/II, Aspen Engineering Suite, Unisim Design, ROMeo / ARPM Technology.
- Proficiency in Dynamic modelling using UniSim Design and/or DYNSIM
