Process Engineering Director - Composite Blade Manufacturing (10-20 yrs)
Summary of the Job - The purpose of the Position :
- Guiding, administration and management of the engineering team
- Designing and ordering the equipment required for blade manufacturing, generating and developing work instructions, defining and developing processes,
- Managing the works related with Service/Warranty,
- Implementing new projects,
- Manages and guides the customers in collaboration with the Program Managers.
Description of the Job - Duties and Responsibilities :
- Performs all Procedures, Protocols, Instructions, Standards and Plans set out by the EYS within the framework of the company's integration policies, acts in accordance with the "Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics" and Management Principles and Ethical Decision Making System,
- Follows, implements and ensures compliance of instructions, procedures and notifications on health, safety, environment and security,
- Ensures the execution of activities under the department in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 Management Systems,
- Attends risk management activities and informs his/her manager on possible elements of risk,
- Makes preparations for the annual budget works relevant to his/her department and submits the data to the Finance Management,
- Manages the engineering team in the form of process, design and equipment, training engineering, material process engineering, machine process engineering, Program Manager, Finishing Process and Service/Warranty department,
- Communicates with internal and external customers, seeks resolution to actual or potential problems, coordinates as necessary,
- Follows up new technologies and materials to improve processes,
- Leads the performance of tests which will help improve processes,
- Approves work instructions and other relevant documents,
- Defines the required processes, creates them and leads development,
- Leads potential new projects, works and coordinates as necessary,
- Defines and helps designing of the required hardware,
- Plans continuous improvement activities,
- Defines the number of staff members based on the actual workload,
- Defines priorities and takes action as required to comply with the timeline,
- As to risk management, identifies the risks with the team, leads the process of generating risk responses and assigns risk owners,
- Follows up all corrective and preventive action regarding the quality system,
- Manages and controls product offer, cost and feasibility efforts,
- Collaborates with the relevant departments to provide technical assistance for investment projects,
- Ensures company-wide implementation of the engineering change management process and attends technical meetings with the customers when necessary,
- Ensures management of and follows up cost reduction and improvement projects,
- Provides direction to the employees in terms of motivation, cooperation, team work and competition in order to improve productivity,
- In all project matters related with the engineering department, provides the technical reports and the information flow which other departments, senior management and other operations will need, and meets their expectations,
- Ensures management and implementation of Service/Warranty processes,
- Ensures that the objectives and targets within the scope of the EYS policy are achieved,
- Ensures that the EYS requirements are secured and integrated with the business processes,
- Encourages the use of process approach and risk-based thinking,
- Ensures that EYS reaches its intended output,
- Provides all the support the team requires to perform all of the company's objectives,
- Encourages all improvements within the scope of EYS,
- Assists the department managers in performing effective leadership with regard to EYS,
- Periodically follows up department KPIs,
- Ensures corrective and preventive measures at his/her unit when necessary,
- Shares the importance of implementing EYS requirements within the body of the companies with the entire team using all communication channels,
- If an employee works in the emergency teams and/or is an HSE board member, then the duties and responsibilities defined in the Emergency Procedure PR-TK-EHS-003/007, Emergency Teams Organization Scheme LS-TK-EHS-009/019 or HSE Board Members- Duties and Powers Procedure PR-TK-EHS-008 are within the scope of the job description.
- Complies and ensures compliance with White Collar Handbook (- EK-TK-HR-001),
- Works to solve the problems and improve communication among the team and with other departments.
- Is responsible for the implementation and improvement of the 5S cleanliness and order system in their areas of responsibility,
- Is responsible for the tasks listed in BD-TK-IMS-013 Management Systems Liabilities Instruction.
Authorizations and Limitations :
- Responsible for the effectiveness of the Integrated (Quality, Environment and HSE) Management System within his/her unit.
- Is authorized to prepare and approve the reports, internal and foreign correspondences related with the Engineering Department.
- Holds the authority to approve the administrative procedures (Off Days, Diseases, etc.) of the personnel directly affiliated with him/her and plan the off days of all affiliated personnel.
- Evaluates the performance of the employees affiliated with him/her according to the Performance Development System and holds the interviews.
Requirements of the Job :
Education : Graduation from a 4-year engineering faculty of a university, Ship Building, Industry or Mechanical Engineering departments
Field/Duration Of Experience :
- 10 years in composite manufacturing + minimum 3 years in composite blade manufacturing
- Foreign Language / Grade
- Advanced English; a second language preferred
- Experience Expectations For Computer-Program Skills
- MS Office Applications, ACAD, Solidworks, Rhinoceros, ERP systems
- Certification - Licence Lean Manufacturing, Management skills, 5S
