A leading Ecommerce is looking out for a leader in the role of Product Compliance specialist who can build the manuals/sop's of the goods for Imports and Exports and know regulatory affairs of different countries

Product Compliance Specialist - Direct Imports & Private Labels, who can take up product compliance responsibilities for gamut of Private Label products across categories, which may include but not be limited to CEPC, Textile Products, Apparels, Home & Kitchen Appliances including Cookwares, casseroles, LED Lights, Room Fresheners, Al foil, Bed sheets, Pillows, Bath towels, Face Towels, Tissue papers etc.

This position shall focus on researching, advising and detailing out action plan on Product Quality & Compliance requirements for Direct Import & Private Label products portfolio being either imported or sourced domestically for sale in India through Third party Manufacturers.

The Product Compliance Specialist - Direct Imports & Private Labels shall act as an effective leader and communicator working with our partners, vendors and consultants. Should have strong business judgment with a track record of ownership values, liasoning with regulatory authorities, manufacturing partners of private labels & Good relationship management skills.

The Product Compliance Specialist - Direct Imports & Private Labels shall act as an enabler to the business and have the ability to understand and work with cross functional teams.

Role:

- Be a part of the functional leadership team of Product Compliance Department and seamlessly interact with peers.

- Product Compliance Specialist- Direct Imports & Private Labels will assist Product Compliance Manager to ensure it's domains of Quality & product compliance requirements are implemented in India across all the manufacturing private Labels locations & Direct Imports portfolio and will support the rapid growth of the business according to local QA & compliance requirements.

- Preparation & submission of required documents with external agencies, Govt. Authorities with due approval from Product Compliance Manager in order to obtain various product specific licenses such as CDSCO Beauty registration for various brands of beauty products, Importer registration from CDSCO for Beauty products, Sanitary Import Permits for Pet Foods from Animal Husbandry Dept., BIS Registration for Electronics & IT goods, BEE compliance for Appliances & other applicable products, Legal Metrology Registrations / Model Approval for applicable weighing & measuring instruments, WPC Import Licenses & WPC ETA Approvals of Wireless devices for Direct Import & Private Label products.

- Assist in Developing and implementing audit guidelines and processes for Manufacturing capability, product safety & Quality assurance for all the applicable private label categories.

- Assist in developing training modules for applicable Product compliance requirements across all the product categories of Direct Imports for business team & ensure all the changes are implemented as per the defined timeframe.

- Ensuring Productwise compliance requirements for import categories such as Toys ( ASTM / EN 71, ILAC, COC- s, Azo Dyes ), Baby Products ( Azo Dyes, Country of Origin certificates ), Leather Goods ( Source of Leather declaration as per Wildlife Protection Act ), Softlines products ( Azo Dyes compliance, Country of Origin )

- Assist in developing training modules including Test Protocols, Product & Packaging Specifications, Visual Inspection Protocols as well as applicable compliance requirements across all the Private Label product categories for business team & ensure all the changes are implemented as per the defined timeframe.

- Auditing of Private Label Manufacturing locations as per Product safety & QA requirements.

- Streamlining Product Quality issues during Manufacturing, Finished Goods inspection with support from External agency & Supplier QA / Ops team across all the private label categories.

- Assist in driving product safety & Quality and ensure that compliance is embedded in our end to end processes in order to reduce risk to our customers, employees and the environment.

- Developing Category specific Product compliance Manual / Playbook, SOP- s, Work instructions & Labelling templates across all the applicable direct import product categories.

- Reviewing of Product labels for all the applicable Direct Imports & Private label categories (Import & Domestic) w.r.t. compliance as per Legal Metrology requirements & as per Product specific legislations.

- Completing the Due diligence, Vendor Registration & Agreements with external agencies / consultants / Testing & inspection laboratories for on boarding the same.

- Develop & Maintain Ready Reckoner as well as Repository of Various Advisories, Notifications, Orders with applicable Laws for all the applicable Categories of Direct Imports & Private Label products.

- Responding to queries / Notices from various regulatory authorities across all the applicable FC's in consultation with Legal team.

- Seeking Legal advice in consultation with Legal team for product compliance requirements of various product categories of Direct imports & Private Labels.

- Seeking Product compliance advice from External Agencies / consultants for applicable categories of Direct Imports & Private Labels.

- Assist in developing, Managing Company's Product recall, Product safety programs through risk management approach including EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) requirements in order to reduce risk to our customers, employees and the environment.

- Assisting the Product Compliance Manager to ensure product compliance in India across all the FC locations and will support the rapid growth of the business according to local regulatory requirements.

- Resolution of Product compliance queries of Direct Import vendors & customs queries related to product compliance in consultation with supply chain team while clearing the goods from ports.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Pharmacy / Textile Engineering / Textile Technology etc. Proven experience leading cross-functional team on executing Product Quality & compliances, Licensing etc.

- 10 + years of relevant experience in Drugs & Cosmetics / Consumer Electronics, Softlines or other Hardlines with reputed FMCG / Retail / Technology Companies.

- Well versed with Quality assurance & Regulatory Affairs framework, Licensing, Import Clearance requirements for a retail entity dealing with Softlines, Hardlines, Cosmetics, Home & Kitchen, Pet Foods and Consumer Electronic Products.

- Good understanding of Retail Business .
