JOB SUMMARY

This position will be reporting to Sr. Development Manager.

Superior Innovations

- Lead formulation design work for innovations & cost saving initiatives to deliver superior and consumer winning products OTIF

- Translate consumer insights into product properties & performance

- Lead Interactions with key suppliers for capability, partnership & open innovation initiatives

- Anticipate assessment and minimization of environmental, safety, regulatory, PR and competitive challenges

- Responsible to deliver Technical Transfer via PLM for the sourcing and supply chain, per agreed quality standards

- Support for product launch and roll-out, and the continuous improvement of products as per the agreed timelines

- Develop technical expertise in relevant sciences and technologies (Natural and Ayurveda), supported by recognised achievements and publications

- Development and implementation of a strategy for intellectual property protection using all appropriate means (patents, trade secrets, trademarks, design registration and publication)

- Build and maintain strong networks with cross functional (Brand, CMI, SC etc) and R&D Cluster teams

- Responsibility will also include interfaces with senior stakeholders i.e.

- Lead innovation projects on White Spaces

- Responsible for lab, pilot & MPT batches and Line managing and guiding junior WL1s and pilot plant staff

Value improvement program and Complexity Reduction

- Single point of contact leading the formulation simplification and VIP initiatives for the brand to deliver the simplification objectives and drive margin improvement.

- Support the formulation simplification agenda for Ayush as required

- Lead the new RM and alternate RM approval process working closely with suppliers and internal supply management teams

Support on Critical Functional capabilities

- Execute and support clinical testing plan for the products.

- Core member of the claims development and support team

- Responsible for Legal & regulatory clearances of products in respective markets

- Lead the team of people in pilot plant for capability build of workman

Problem complexity

- Drive closure of design right from concept to requirements to specifications to final products.

- Trade off costs, performance, and sensory to get the winning product.

- Use of risk management tools to de-risk project delivery from technical probability of success of a technology route

- This role is responsible for OTIF (on time in full) delivery of all innovation projects, roll out and value improvement projects in the Ayush from a product design perspective.It holds significant potential to topline & bottom line in the coming years.

4. Other members of the design/technology team and the larger R&D team (including Deploy Team Leader)

KEY REQUIREMENTS

- B. Pharma/M. Pharma, B.SC Tech with a Post Graduate Degree with experience in Naturals or Ayurveda will be best suit for the job.

- Should have approximately 10-13 years of total work experience, preferably in design of personal care natural or Ayurvedic Products. Design experience in a company engaged in the manufacture of Natural / Ayurvedic products (like Himalaya, Dabur, Sami Lab, Vicco). Knowledge of Ayurveda science will be added advantage and would also be desirable.

- The candidate should have excellent leadership skills, project and people management skills, communication skills, and should be able to seamlessly interface with cross-functional team members from Supply Chain, Marketing, and Commercial etc. The candidate should also can motivate and enthuse the team to deliver challenging targets.
