Job Description :

The Senior Industrial Designer plays a leadership role in the creative execution of various types of design projects and initiatives in the Refrigeration category, through hands on Industrial Design concept development, prototyping, and working to realize creative product solutions, from concept to production.

Primary Responsibilities :

- Under the supervision of the Refrigeration Global Design Manager, she/he will contribute to, and sometimes lead, design projects from concept generation through implementation, ensuring a high level of design and attention to detail.

- She/He will apply data-driven insights to generate differentiated and innovative design solutions that meet the needs of the customers, and will ensure the primary company goal that is the PRODUCT LEADERSHIP.

The Senior industrial Designer will :

- Generate structural design concepts and ideas based on project design briefs (generally coming from Marketing) and cross functional team inputs and discussions

- Generate prototypes of design concepts and ideas based on project design briefs and cross functional team inputs and discussions

- Work closely with Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing and R&D to follow and support projects from concept stage into production

- Be an active participant in cross-functional project teams and workshops.

- Proactively seek out ways to improve design and prototype processes, sometimes taking the lead of the internal Help supporting human factors testing processes (Usability tasks, focus groups, etc).

- Utilize knowledge of design and cultural trends to design for various markets around India but also Europe, North and South America.

- Demonstrate strong visual, written, and oral communication/presentation skills

- Work independently as well as collaborate effectively in team environments led by his Design Manager and/or the Design Director and/or other categories leaders.

- Manage and mentor more junior roles

- Manage multiple projects with critical deadlines and tight timing

- Due to the importance of the role it is required to be available for experience in other regions for limited times. Being available for meetings and extra time calls can happen.

Qualifications :

- Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design and/or Master(NID or IIT Mumbai/Delhi)

- 5-6 years professional design experience

- Proficient Portfolio with examples of products put on the market, and/or visionary design proposals

Technical Skills :

- Sketching abilities to communicate design intent

- Fluency in relevant 3D modeling software (Rhinoceros, Solidworks or equivalent is mandatory required)

- Fluency in relevant 3D rendering software (Keyshot preferred)

- Proficiency in 2D design software (i.e. Adobe Suite)

Personal Skills :

- Understanding of various prototyping methods and ability to create hands on prototypes

- Solid and undisputed understanding of manufacturing methods and materials, with a dedicated focus on plastic injection method, Metal stamping and Color and Finishing technical applications

- Solid technical design experience/background

- Past experience design of appliances (small and major) is a plus

- Possess a good understanding of the various cross-functional collaborative roles including R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Design Strategy, Design Research and Marketing

- Ability to travel (even by car) up to 15% domestically with potential for international travel

- Possess strong organizational, bureaucratic and time management skills

Languages : Fluency in English is mandatory
