Product Owner - Electronics/Electrical (9-18 yrs)
Product Owner
Reporting to - Head of PMD (Product Management & Development), India Unit
1.2. Purpose / Responsibility:
- Product Owner is a champion of the assigned product line. Responsibilities include the support of existing product lines and global market introductions of new products. This role also serves as the sales and marketing representative in product development teams providing market insight to the project team. The Product Owner acts as a connector, bringing teams and customers/users together so the teams become more customer focused.
1.3. Key tasks:
- Optimizing the value add, cost and quality of the product by
- Clearly expressing Product Backlog items and documenting the value add (Value Proposition, Product Strategy, Business Value, Product Positioning)
- Prioritizing the items in the Product Backlog to best achieve goals and missions.
- Ensuring that the Product Backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all, and shows what the Scrum Team will work on next.
- Ensuring the Development Team understands items in the Product Backlog to the level needed.
- Turns data insights into products with actionable outcomes to the ultimate customer.
- Continuously reviews the business needs, refines priorities keeping the balance between committed items and non-committed items for implementation to minimize customer disturbances when fast moving items are entering into backlog
- Is specialized in certain product management activities as Product Owner - could be across product families
- Owns all aspects of the product (Hardware, Software, release, etc.)
- Drive product improvements based on market and customer needs with technical understanding and act as technical advisor for various internal projects
- Has strong competitor insight for the relevant products
- Give necessary in-depth product support for Sales & Service teams and customers and make customer visits as required to help sales organization on key projects
- Provide general specifications to product development teams for new products
- Support the sales organization in launching new products
- Facilitate the development of technical and marketing literature for new products

2. Candidate:
2.1. Minimum requirements to educational background and work experience
- 9-14 Years in technical or applications role for an industrial electronics products manufacturing company. Experience in a very similar product area (drives, motors, electromechanical or electrical controls,) is strongly preferred.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering - Electronics / Electrical
- Exposure to global markets
- Should have a broad base of business knowledge in addition to technical knowledge.
- Able to deal technically with complete systems involving complex technical components.
- Experienced at analyzing customer needs and defining solutions.
- Experience in Product Management and/or Product Development
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Previous experience in similar business with good understanding of Agile product development
