Production Engineer - Oil & Gas (5-10 yrs)
Urgently Required - Production Engineer - (oil & Gas)
Skills/Experience :
- Min 5 Years Work Exp in Oil & Gas offshore or onshore production field
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Chemical, Petroleum
- DCS, Control Room operations
Planning : Contribute to the planning of work programmes to maximise overall efficiency; and to assist other members of the team as required to carry out the planned work programmes.
Work Site Activity :
- Operate the facilities during normal operation as well as planned shutdown, start-up and emergency modes using internationally accepted standards and Co's procedures and guidelines
- Personal/Team Performance Measurement and Improvement
- Develop self and team in line with set criteria and standards using Co's performance measurement and improvement tools and guidelines.
- Communication and Information
Support the facilities Communications Guidelines and provide quality information concerning all aspects of work and equipment status to supervisor and colleagues using existing reporting protocol.
Emergency Response : The post holder will be expected to perform Emergency Response duties as defined in the ERP and company standards.
Scope :
- Operation of their designated areas of the plant, monitoring & control systems, and the mentoring and training of Junior staff in their relevant discipline.
- This is TPC for 2 years extendable further
Qualifications :
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Chemical, Petroleum or Scientific discipline and a minimum of 5 years experience within the offshore or onshore production field. Well developed fault finding capabilities.
- Good communication and organisation skills. Working knowledge of control room equipment. Awareness and commitment to Cos's environmental expectations.
- Has sufficient technical understanding of assigned facilities to be able to make informed decisions that ensure Co's priorities are met and maintained. Able to recognise risks, hazards, losses and prevent conflicts between activities.

Standards : Possesses a working knowledge of Co's HSEMS, HSE, SWPs, Codes and Practices, and applicable legislation.
Indicative Tasks :
Planning : Assist Production Superintendent with the planning and scheduling of plant and equipment shutdown programs at well pads.
Work Site Activity :
- Monitor routine plant and well pad equipment operations e.g. start-up, shutdown and monitoring.
- Perform first line maintenance and reporting faults on plant and equipment.
- Prepare plant and equipment for maintenance e.g. depressurises, vent and drain.
- Identify, prepare and apply process isolations.
- Assist with routine shutdown and shutdown maintenance activities.
- Supervise and coach junior staff.
- Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) process and review conclusions.
- Apply STOP techniques and working practices during daily activity.
- Monitor maintenance or construction work sites for compliance with Permit to Work and company standards.
- Document review e.g. Operating Procedures, modification work packs etc.
- Prepare Daily Operations Logs.
- Ensure that all records/logs/certificates are maintained and updated to provide evidence of terminal conformance to Co's HSE standards.
- Participate in MoC review process.
- Support commissioning and optimisation of new and modified plant.
- Ensure discharges and flaring levels are monitored, recorded and controlled.
Performance Measurement and Review :
- Enter quality data into daily production report management system, to ensure accurate plant and equipment information is maintained.
- Monitor performance of systems by use of watch keeping processes.
- Support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Maintain competency of junior staff by identifying training requirements for individuals and ensuring they are met.
- Permit and isolation audits, control and monitor permits and long term Isolations.
- Where applicable follow up of safety actions - review and implement HSE actions.
- Area inspections and Safety Audit tours.
- Develop and put in place plans to achieve targets set in performance contracts.
Communication and Information :
- Attend safety briefings and pre job safety talks and actively participate
- Maintain detailed daily logs.
- Ongoing dialogue with Supervisors & other shift teams.
- Maintain contact with other sites and production groups.
- Liaise closely with maintenance teams.
- Interface with contractors and third parties.
Safety Critical Tasks :
- Fulfil designated role in emergency team as required.
- Carry out required process isolations to Co's standards.
- Start up, shutdown, isolation and preparation of process and utility plant and equipment.
- On line sampling and analysis of production fluids.
- Provide safe and efficient first line response to plant malfunctions.
- Carry out adjustments to the plant as required by the Control Room team.
Environment :
- Adjust plant operating parameters on instructions from supervisor to achieve flare consent targets etc.
- Maintain and operate equipment to minimise potential for fugitive losses and accidental oil/chemical spills.
- Use Waste Management System to contribute to terminal objectives and targets for waste handling and reduction.
- Monitor / measure production performance to meet Gujrat environmental monitoring requirements, recording of this performance monitoring, and review of performance figures against regulatory and Co's objectives and targets.
- Understand the environmental emissions and resource use and effects from each of the above.
Coaching and Developing :
- Ability to interact with all staff.
- Provide proactive input to junior staff training program to ensure development aspirations and targets are met.
- Actively encourage development over and above core skills.
- Provide regular feedback to line management regarding junior staff progress and requirements.
