Production Head - Ice Cream Manufacturing (6-30 yrs)

The brand, which has changed ownership over the last decade, has now been acquired by a team of pedigreed professionals, who believe in the brand's latent strength to build Nirula's into a leading ice cream company.
Nirula's has an existing manufacturing facility in NOIDA that comprises an ice cream production unit, food processing unit and a bulk kitchen. The Company has already commissioned an upgrade and relocation of the existing facility for all the three units.
- The role is very challenging in respect of design and relocation of the new facility, at least a 100% increase in production and addition of new products.
Responsibilities :
The primary responsibility of the position is to manage the manufacturing facility with the objective of achieving quality and volume parameters.
1. Production & inventory planning; Profit Center management (40%)
a. Plan production across the three units based on demand and projections from operations and sales
b. Efficiently manage finished goods and raw material inventory and warehouse such that there are no stock-outs leading to either loss of production or sales.
c. Achieve production targets for all products and manage manufacturing as a profit center and effect cost control measures to improve profitability and productivity.
2. Quality, process control & new product development (40%)
a. Supervise & monitor quality initiatives for raw materials and finished products. Ensure regular quality checks and audits are conducted and reported.
b. Ensure 100% compliance with regulatory and statutory bodies like FSSAI. Pollution control board, labour, etc.
c. Establish and monitor industry best practices with respect to process control ensuring regular checks and audits are documented and reported.
d. Work with product development to launch new products
3. Supply Chain & Logistics (10%)
a. Ensure a smooth and reliable ordering, distribution and logistics system for all product categories
4. Team Management (10%)
a. Manage the various functional teams within manufacturing as well as work collaboratively work with other teams like product development, operations and marketing implement production schedules
Qualifications and Experience :
1. BE or above from a university of national repute
2. 6 or more years of experience in F&B manufacturing preferably with FMCG companies. Dairy experience is essential.
3. Good communication & computer skills, team management skills and ability to withstand a deadline driven environment.
