Project Manager - EU - OIl & Gas (14-17 yrs)
JOB PURPOSE
- B. Tech /M. Tech or equivalent in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline, from reputed Institutes/Universities.
- The position requires 14-17 years of experience in the Project Management functions of reputed Engineering Consultants.
- Working experience in the Project Management capacity of Oil and Gas industries is essential.
- Upstream and downstream experience in O&G is desired.
- Downstream O&G experience and petrochemical experience will be an added advantage.
Shall plan, monitor & control projects and
Shall report to the Program Manager/Account Delivery Manager.
Shall ensure delivery of project deliverables within the scheduled man-hours and meet the schedule of projects
Shall be capable of reviewing and commenting on project deliverables produced by various discipline engineers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Manager to lead all the stage gates of projects - for e.g., Basic Engineering, FEED, Detail Design, Procurement, construction and commissioning and start-up.
Maintain a strategic focus on the project by frequent interaction with the business leaders and client to ensure a balance between the immediate project needs and the long term goals of the company.
Participate in Proposal and Project Kick-off Meetings as required. Ensure that the right deliverable is developed and delivered to meet company's quality standard, and client contractual requirements.
Utilize project management methodologies, systems and tools as defined by Company or customer.
Lead Project team and facilitate the communication and interaction among the various stakeholders
Track project against its schedule, budget and quality for different stage gates. Review objectives, reporting status to management and customer on a regular basis.
Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and un-anticipated occurrences. Prepare periodic management and/or customer reports and presentations.
Coach Project team to achieve project goals.
Mentor and coach the project engineer assigned to support the project, if any. Lead weekly Project Meetings with all discipline engineering leads. Review and verify project estimates monthly.
Manage project budget and controls expenses effectively. Provide feedback regarding employee performance on a project team to the functional manager for record.
Recommend new processes where needed to improve quality, cost & on-time delivery. Identify project scope changes and prepares job change notices for submittal to clients.
Maintain awareness of safety and environmental requirements.
Negotiate differences with client and internal personnel to meet project goals.
Review and approve key project documents with respect to scope including P&IDs, Plot Plans, Operating Manuals, etc. Work with Project Controls to transition proposed budget into execution budget.
Tracks costs and reports against budget.
Provide day to day supervision of the assigned project admin assistant to resolve project administrative issues as they relate to the PM's assigned projects. To raise WIP or invoice timely as per the project terms and condition.
Participate in the Project Proposal to ensure the Scope of Work is properly defined and ensure that the Project team has a clear understanding of the project scope.
Develop Project Execution Plan. Ensure Good Engineering Practices are followed If required, participate in HAZOP, CHAZOP, PSM, Hazard Identification, SIL Studies, etc.

Key Technical Skills Required:
Possess a broad understanding of each engineering disciplines and project procedures.
Possesses a general understanding of contract administration, business principals and business law.
Should have worked as a Project Manager/Delivery Manager for minimum 8 years.
Effective management & leadership skills.
Effective computer skills;
MS Project, Microsoft Office Software, Microsoft Outlook, and other Company and discipline specific software applications.
Knowledge of Primavera tool would be an added advantage.
