Project Manager - MEP (12-15 yrs)
We are seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager with a strong background in managing and delivering interior fit-out projects for commercial office spaces. The ideal candidate will have 12-15 years of relevant experience overseeing the full life cycle of MEP installations, ensuring successful coordination between different systems (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) in fast-paced environments. This role requires leadership skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of the construction and fit-out process.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution:
- Lead MEP works for commercial office space interior fit-out projects, from concept to handover.
- Develop and implement detailed project plans, timelines, and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
Coordination & Collaboration:
- Collaborate with architects, designers, general contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP designs into overall project plans.
- Lead coordination meetings between MEP subcontractors to resolve design conflicts, clashes, and technical issues.
- Ensure alignment between MEP works and interior design aesthetics, ensuring minimal disruptions to office space layouts.
Cost & Budget Management:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and value engineering solutions for MEP components.
- Monitor and control MEP project costs to ensure they are within the approved budget.
- Review and approve MEP-related procurement and material selection.
Quality & Safety Control:
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance with quality assurance procedures.
- Implement safety protocols and monitor site safety during MEP installations.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure that installations are carried out according to the project specifications and drawings.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Manage and mentor a team of MEP engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Lead the recruitment and selection of key MEP personnel, as required.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the project team.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, logs, and reports.
- Provide regular progress updates to senior management and clients.
- Manage project close-out, including handing over of documentation and post-occupancy support.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- 12-15 years of experience in MEP project management, specifically in interior fit-out projects for commercial office spaces.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems in commercial fit-outs.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design/construction management software.
- In-depth understanding of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- PMP certification or similar project management qualification is a plus.
