Project Planning Engineer - Construction (2-4 yrs)
Job Overview :
- The Project Planning Engineer is responsible for creating and managing project schedules, tracking progress, and identifying potential issues that may affect the timely completion of a project. This role involves collaboration with various teams, including project managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities :
Schedule Development :
- Create detailed project schedules based on project requirements, scope, and resource availability.
- Utilize project management tools and software to develop and maintain schedules.
Resource Allocation :
- Work with project managers to identify and allocate resources required for each project phase.
- Ensure that resources are optimally utilized to meet project deadlines.
Progress Monitoring :
- Regularly monitor and update project schedules to reflect actual progress.
- Identify and analyse critical path activities and potential risks to the project timeline.
Risk Assessment :
- Conduct risk assessments related to project schedules and propose mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with project teams to address and overcome potential scheduling challenges.
Communication :
- Communicate schedule updates, changes, and potential delays to project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information for schedule updates.
Reporting :
- Prepare and distribute regular project status reports, highlighting key milestones, risks, and deviations from the schedule.
- Provide insights and recommendations to project managers and stakeholders.
Collaboration :
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among project teams.
Continuous Improvement :
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in project planning and scheduling.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate them into project planning processes.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in engineering or construction projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc.), AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
