Purchase Head - Material Management (10-15 yrs)
Job Description :
Responsibilities -
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies including capability development of existing vendors and development of new vendors.
- Drive cost efficiency through analysis of the Total Cost of Ownership.
- Identify Performance measures, track and report to improve functional effectiveness
- Drive cost efficiency through cost element analysis led negotiations.
- Work with Engineering and other stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly documented and understood.
- Ascertain supply chain potential risks proactively & initiate actions to mitigate.
- Develop suppliers as partners with Performance Reliability focus.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
- Manage Procurement activities. Perform the balancing act between Zero Shortages and Optimum Inventory.
- To ensure all activities are performed accurately, in time especially processing of appropriate documents.
- Need to comply every actions needs to be Complete, Accurate and imitated in Time.
Requirements -
- Proven track record of being a successful Purchasing Leader in a reputed organization in the Manufacturing and Engineering industry.
- Strong leadership capabilities. Orientation to work in a team environment is a must. The person needs to bring in personal performance accountability and develop that of the team.
- Focus on development of Systems and Improvements of the same is an important requirement.
- Strong in Sourcing and Vendor relationship management.
Skilled in -
- Negotiation and networking,
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes,
- Planning,
- Communication,
- Project Management.
- Conversant with ERP (SAP preferred) and the ERP process Purchase to Pay.
- Knowledge of Imports, Exports essential including that of the Customs practices, Service providers such as CHAs, Transporters.
- Good understanding of BOMs, Scheduling, Importance of having materials available for production at Optimum Inventory.
- Ability to gather, analyze data and to work with numbers. Strong Analytical, Logical approach supported with judgement & decision making skills.
- BE in Mechanical Engineering with background experience of Electrical / Auto component industry.
