Purchasing & Inventory Control Manager (3-5 yrs)
Responsibilities :
1. Place purchase orders for finished goods and raw materials to ensure adequate inventory levels exist to meet production and sales. Since many of our finished goods are from the Pacific Rim, an understanding of this supply chain and lead times, Customs and the Harmonized Tariff System is desired.
1. Follow up with Vendors to get committed delivery dates, update ERP system and open PO report with these dates and follow up with vendors to ensure attainment of delivery dates. Proactively alert management to potential inventory issues and initiate steps to mitigate the negative impacts of these items.
1. Review, analyze and update inventory items usage quantities and lead times to optimize inventory levels and reorder points.
1. Oversee the month end physical inventory, review data for accuracy and analyze material fluctuations to verify accuracy and understand changes in consumption patterns.
1. Negotiate vendor contracts and pricing.
1. Drive supply chain cost reduction, monitor material and commodity markets, establish standard costs and drive supplier performance improvement.
1. Identify and implement departmental process improvements.
Specific Measures of Job Performance :
1. Zero backorders for all products within Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager's responsibility.
2. 100% on-time delivery of all components to meet manufacturing lead times.
3. Purchase orders placed a minimum of 90 days out with PO's planned for a rolling 12 month forecast.
4. Accurate and optimal inventory balances for all products
