QA/QC Engineer - Mechanical (8-14 yrs)
Position : QA/QC Engineer
BE or Diploma in Mech Engg with 8-10 Years of Similar
Experience :
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor with Auditing skills
- Knowledge of welding, NDT & Coating (AWS,CSWIP, NDT qualifications)
- Experience in Package management of procured items
- Computer skills - MS Office
- Good communication skills
- Similar work experience in Offshore / Subsea EPCI environment.
- Knowledge of codes and standards.
- Experience in Line pipe, Materials, Heavy Forgings, Subsea Valves procurement including FAT, SIT of subsea valves.
- Experience in DNV-OS-F101 materials, forgings,heat treatment.
Reports to : Project Quality Manager
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Perform audits of vendors at TBE or after award to determine compliance to requirements.
- Prepare / assess Suppliers RFQ's / TBE and award. Assist in evaluation and coordination of all suppliers activities.
- Liaise with Engineering groups, PMT, Purchasing, Vendors Inspection and customer to ensure customer spec requirements are integrated into the Engineering and Vendor Data documents of supplied products.
- Give key emphasis on auditing to ensure the state of preparedness at each vendor prior to commencement of work and preferably prior to pre- inspection meeting.
- Conduct audits on a routine basis (schedule) to ensure the vendor remains consistent and vigilantin their efforts to comply.
- Initiate early review of QA/QC / welding documents to expedite early approval and accuracy of document prior to input the document control system (VDR + SDR)
- The document review will be a one-on-one review with the vendor premises to construct and ensure a proper document is finalized prior to submittal
- The document shall meet the contract requirement and to the satisfaction of QA Engineer prior to the vendor submitting to McDermott Document Control System.
- Resolve any engineering document based on instruction from lead engineers to ensure vendor document is in sufficient state prior to submission to obtain approval.
- Resolve / propose technical solutions for issues that arise at vendor's site.
Job Description :
- Immediately assess the situation, accurately report the condition and propose a logical technical solution that bears feasibility prior to submitting Site query and / or TQ.
- Develop the Project Audit schedule, assign and conduct audits to determine compliance to management system.
- Follows up on audit findings to ensure proper close out and correction. Ensure that all audits are value added to ensure proper assessment and objective evidence of compliance is pursued.
- Ensure that project Quality Planned schedule audits are conducted on a timely schedule relevant to commencement of activities.
- Perform audits of sub-contractors, vendors and suppliers to ensure they are in compliance to the agreed contract scope of work.
- Assist Project Quality Manager in preparation of project specific procedures, method statements and/or addendums to the standard operating procedures.
- Responsible to assist/advise the QC and / or TPI Inspectors of Non-Conformance Reports and Corrective action as required.
- Monitoring manufacturing operations ensuring compliance to specifications.
- Monitoring Quality Control operations ensuring compliance to specifications.
- Responsible to verify final compliance and acceptance to AFC drawings and specification and recording of deficiencies for punchlist clearance.
- Responsible to ensure the smooth flow of information and coordination exist between MDR QC personnel, TPI, CVA and Client QC Team.
- Identify unique requirements like welding sequence, preservation & cleanliness from cradle to grave and / or special processes and / or special control and examination required for any specific activity during the execution of the project.
- Oversee the manufacturing processes, ensure adherence to related procedures, plans and effective stage / final component inspection and release process are adhered.
- Assisting the Project Quality Manager in execution of project Quality Audit Schedule and Company Initiated (Customer) Audits.
- Quality Plan/Procedures need to be followed at all time and ensure product quality.
- Initiate 'Fit for Purpose' evaluation for non-conforming items.
- Assure through proper utilization of resources and audit verification the effectiveness and execution of the Project Quality Plan.
- Identify issues, concerns, Implement preventive action and corrective action.
- Participate in the meeting at Supplier facility with the PMT to determine effectiveness and compliance of Quality Management system
- Liaise with the QC / NDT / Certification Personnel, TPI, CVA and Customer to ensure that Quality problems are addressed and technically resolved.
- Liaise with the IVB (Certifying Authority) and Company on documents specified to seek verification, assessment and appraisal of their conformity and fitness to the codes and regulations.
Job Description :
- Oversee the As Built Project Certification as it is progressed through work approval packages and monitors progress/status of mechanical completion.
- Monitoring 'As-Built' documentation ensuring it is progressively compiled and approved
