QC/QA Head - Factories - FMCG (10-16 yrs)
Position Specification:
1) Post-Graduation in Chemistry (Any Branch of Chemistry) / Bachelor of Engineering - Chemical.
2) 10 to 15 years of work experience in a vegetable oil industry with capacity of 500 tons per day and leadership role for the last 5 years.
3) Good Analytical knowledge in order to handle sophisticated analytical instruments to arrive at required quality of the finished goods.
4) Good knowledge of usage of quality tools and systems like ISO, WCM, HACCP, 6 Sigma.
5) Working experience in automated / High Technology environment is added advantage.
6) Willingness to travel between all the facilities of the Organization within India and abroad if required.
Job Description:
1) Statutory Compliance
a) FSSAI : License for the group companies, Coordinating Inspection. All Notification and Amendments under the Act.
b) Coordinate with Agmark department to get replica for the blended oil production. Inspection coordination and monthly returns submission.
c) Legal Metro-logy : Licence amendment for any new product, inspection coordination, controller coordination.
2) Regulatory
a) Responsible for leading packaging changes related to Regulatory issues (FSSAI, ASCI, Legal Metro-logy)
b) Support Marketing in developing product claims
c) Facilitating new product development initiative with key focus on Quality, Cost & Delivery.
d) Internal audits for Food Safety and Processes
e) Develop and ensure compliance to GMP standards
f) Lead site effort for 3rd party certifications, ISO 9001:2015, ISO, 22000:2015, FSMS, HACCP, BRC, Halal and Kosher.
g) Handling legal proceedings related to FSSAI, AGMARK and Legal metro-logy
h) Coordinate packaging development activities.
i) Scrutinizing and issuing approvals to domestic and export labels.
j) Responsible to documentation process for internal and 3rd party audits
k) Liaison with statutory agencies like FSSAI,W&M,AGMARK for renewals and product approvals.
3) Quality Control:
a) Raw Material :
i) To organize for sampling of each Raw material consignment wise.
ii) To organize for the Analysis of the Raw materials depending on priority of Production dept.
iii) To establish documentation system for the analysis sheets (Raw material quality assessment form-RAQF).
iv) To oversee the Analysis results of Raw materials.
v) Approved Raw materials are cleared for process by circulating RQAF to all concerned depts.
vi) Raw materials approval-MRN.
b) Process control
i) To identify the process control stream to be analyzed, in coordination with Production depts.
ii) To fix the frequency of inspection in coordination with production dept and draw out quality plan.
iii) To organize for inspection.
iv) To monitor the results of process control streams, discuss with concerned operation dept in case of deviation and take necessary actions to bring back to normalcy by prioritizing and re-sampling.
c) Product Quality
i) To organize for sampling of each product lot wise.
ii) To organize for the Analysis of the finished products depending on priority of Customers.
iii) To establish documentation system for the analysis sheets PQAF (Product quality assessment form)
iv) To oversee the Analysis results of Finished products
v) In case of Non-conforming product, to examine blending of lots, so that the customers spec is also met and Finished product inventory is reduced.
vi) To organize for maintenance of stock of finished products- SKU wise
vii) Bench-marking of product with competitor samples
4) Quality Assurance
a) To identify areas for storage of Raw material based on compatibility and location of usage.
b) To ensure identification of Raw material before and after QC check.
c) To codify the materials where ever required.
d) To ensure identification of Finished product-Lot wise with clear trace ability to batch nos, Production date, Batch details, dispatch advice formats.
e) To ensure system for recall the Production/QC details in case of customer complaints.
f) Support Production to qualify equipment's for production after product changeovers. {Primary responsibility remains with Production team}
g) To ensure that the products are being packed and stored as per customers requirement even at the time of production/Plant area.
h) Responsible should be Production team - QC to support. Process ownership remains in Production area.
i) To establish a system for Process validation, Document change in case of change in process condition.
j) Writing of appropriate SOPs wherever it is required.
k) To ensure QMS and FSMS systems in the factory
5) Analytical Method Development
a) To discuss with suppliers, in order to standardize the Analytical methods of Raw materials, across all manufacturing sites.
b) To organize for a visit to customer place/Discussion over phone to streamline the Analytical methods of finished products between two labs.
c) To continuously search for new analytical methods through net browsing for the updation of existing methods/Technology
6) Cost Management
a) Recommend for the procurement of cost effective lab chemicals and reagents/Lab wares without compromising quality.
b) Instruct dept Chemists not to waste Reagents/Chemicals.
c) Minimize the breakages
d) Avoidance of Re-inspection and Re-analysis.
e) Introduction of quicker method against the conventional methods.
f) Proper handling of Instruments and equipment to avoid breakdowns.
g) Effective utilization of Manpower.
