Quality Engineer - Manufactured Goods (4-5 yrs)
Job Description :
- Responsible for incoming quality control & incoming process control.
- Champion a program for the implementation and sustainment of a continuous improvement culture.
- Ensuring all in house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
- Liaising and communicating with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers for quality and on time delivery.
- Establish business processes to check quality of manufactured goods.
- Lead regular inspection meetings with appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality.
- Communicate with personnel at all levels, internally and externally to the company, in relation to quality matters.
- Travelling & Site stay will be a key part of the job.
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing quality operations team that meets agreed objective s and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
- Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Maintain Control Plans and FMEA's throughout the life of the part.
- Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action
- Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques
- Resolve quality issues of capability, tolerancing, and materials related issues.
- Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.
- Effectively communicate and reinforce Res- commitment to quality improvement efforts
Additional Information :
Key competencies :
- Should aware of Installation & Commissioning Activities & Site Safety requirements.
- Should be well versed with Mechanical & Electrical drawings interpretation for Assembly, Wiring & Installation.
- Should have exposure of Auto CAD and Solid Works, Machine & Welding processing.
- Will require traveling extensively & will have to be on Customer site.
- Experience managing a certified quality management system. Exceptional mechanical aptitude (i.e. intuitive understanding of Mechanical processes)
- Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the automotive/Sheet metal industry.
- Previous work experience in an organization that supplied large OEM's.
- Customer quality assurance experience.
- Previous audit experience.
- Technical knowledge of Stamping, Machining, Welding Process
- Formal training and previous experience as a Lead Internal Auditor.
- Project management experience.
- Certified Quality Engineer.
Skill Set : Technical Knowledge of Stamping, Machining & Welding process, Quality Engineer Certificate
Required Qualification/Education : B.Tech/B.E. Mechanical
