Quality Engineer - Solar/Electrial (2-8 yrs)

Seeks a quality engineer to drive quality for its radically affordable solar home energy systems. The quality engineer will work closely with our supply chain management, field team and external vendors to develop quality for rural distributed renewable energy operations.

Responsibilities

The position will report to the quality manager with key responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:

- Designing a comprehensive quality program for all key components and for finished goods. Develop baseline for overall product quality. Assess, Prepare and execute work plans to assess quality levels and suggest improvements:

- For new SHS and components

- For field returned SHS and components. Develop process to gain accurate and comprehensive information from the field force on a continuous basis to determine actual field product performance.

- Based on feedback from Field Technicians & Installation Agents, review failed components, seek RCA, and make changes / improvements to SHS based on findings.

- Prepare reports and own quality changes to be made

- Train & Manage (internal or external) Quality Resources on process, technique, and theory

- Quality practices and cost effectiveness (Component and integrated system)

- Manufacturing / Assembly and Logistics

Requirements:

- BE / Diploma in Engineering and preferably in electrical and electronics engineering

- Greater than 2 years of experience in quality domain in solar, electrical or electronics industry

Desirable:

- Exposure to rural environment

- Experience with lean six sigma and ISO quality processes would be a plus.

Salary-7 -13 Lacs
