Quantity Surveyor - Construction Operations (2-7 yrs)
Job Summary :
Require cost estimation for :
- Wardrobes
- Custom kitchens
- Bathroom and shower screens; and
- Custom Joinery Residential
Responsibilities and Duties :
Task :
Stage 1 : Determining Requirements
- Review of tender documentation
First stage is to review and document the following :
- Overall project scope;
- Key project assumptions; and items that are excluded in the project scope.
- Conversion of scope to quantities to establish the size, type, material and finish.Establish the initial baseline for scope and details quantities
- Application of the quantities to match the relevant prototype.Match the products to prototype
Stage 2 : Verification
- Approval from the client to confirm the accuracy of cost information and prototype.Assistance is required in the initial stages to confirm.
- Should there be any deviations from standard prototype, liaison with the client for further instructions Alert the client and receive further instruction.Item 4 and 5 are critical.
Stage 3 : Documentation and Evaluation
- Preparation of draft estimate for client's review.Input data in software and preparation of draft estimate.An internal review is recommended prior to forwarding the document to client.
- Review comments and finalize package for submissions Finalization and issue of documents.
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications :
- Read construction plans and technical documents
- Preparation of bill of quantities
- Knowledge of construction trade and building industry standards
- Possess numeracy skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Previous experience required in building estimation;
- Experience with a formal estimating software package is desirable
