Reporting : President and Managing Director

Location : Ambernath Plant

Weekly off : Sunday

General Shift time : 9.10 a.m 5.40 p.m

Qualifications : 

- M.Sc. (Polymer Chemistry/ Material Science) or M. Tech (Chemical)

- Ph. D in Polymer / Material science, preferred.

- Published research papers and /or patents will be preferred.

Experience :

- Minimum 17-19 years industrial experience in adhesives, coating or printing industry out of which at least 5 yrs should be in R&D function. Some experience in Quality Management system will be preferred.

- Must have experience in handling multitasking activities effectively.

- Knowledge of production processes, Quality systems & standards, process improvement techniques, Firefighting, First aid measures, emergency-preparedness and strong Functional skills is essential.

- Strong communication and presentation skills.

- Good written and verbal communication skills

- Must be fluent in English

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities :

- To guide the R&D team to meet their objectives/ projects in coating and printing with technical support and frequent review of progress to ensure departmental objectives are met.

- To help various SBUs to meet their objectives for new innovative products for customer satisfaction.

- To support plant operations for achieving their objectives for quality, yield improvement, cost reduction, process simplification etc.

- To understand customer requirements by discussion with sales/marketing team and if required understand application by visiting customer and observing on line.

- To identify and arrange input requirements for project in hand by internet search, communicating with suppliers of product and service, attending seminars and exhibitions and/or other available resources.

- To issue specifications for raw materials, process and product and to provide training to production and QA team.

- To co-ordinate with various functions and external laboratories and agencies whenever required for successful completion of the project.

- Protecting companys intellectual properties by patenting innovative ideas.

Responsibilities :

- Responsible for development of new products, improvement of existing product quality, issuing standard operating conditions, issuing various raw materials, process and product specifications, developing new test methods.

- Responsible for resource optimization through product up-gradation in terms of raw material reduction/ alternatives, process simplification, yield improvement.

- Responsible for on-line and off-line trouble shooting and suggesting corrective actions/process changes.

- Provides assistance in safety and environmental programmes such as Chemical Inventory, Material Safety Data Sheet, Labelling, Employee training and Emergency Response.
