Job Title: Assistant Manager - Non Production Spend

Reports to: Manager NPS - South Asia

Location: Gurgaon

SUMMARY

This role shall be responsible for the execution of Capex Sourcing procurement strategies for the Business unit across India. The position is for a buying expert whose responsibilities include negotiating national prices, contracts, building and maintaining linkages between procurement, projects - engineering and the factories, developing productivity and saving programs and ensuring all reporting and compliance requirements are met for the areas of responsibility. This position will have direct linkage to Manufacturing Development team and will liaise closely with this team to deliver the Capex projects in full scope, time and cost.

SCOPE / DIMENSIONS OF ROLE

Within organization the S/he shall be interacting closely with the Manufacturing, Engineering Department, Logistics, Packaging Development, Quality teams, Plant & Corporate Finance. Externally the role holder interacts with the Suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Procurement Lead for Capex procurement

- Analyse and understand business needs for capex projects

- Identify and deliver savings

- Understand both demand & supply market,

- Develop national sourcing strategies including the below to deliver cost savings in capex

- Maximizing the usage of used equipment- s

- Maximizing the LCC(lowest cost country) sourcing buying

- Optimize buying using alternative sourcing

- Drive alignment with the stake holders

2. Global & Regional Sourcing Strategy Alignment

- Drive regional and global projects and contracts in India related to all Capex spend

- To coordinate the global initiatives and ensure the strategic approach is delivering the overall benefit for the business

- Effective & collaborative management coaching and guidance for local procurement teams in all aspects of leadership

- Participate on Global & Regional meetings/Conference calls

- Use and update global and regional tools thro team site.

3. Contract Execution support & coordination

- Obtain legal approval in accordance with policy

- Administer contracts until completion or hand over to replenishment groups

- Ensure appropriate documentation of contracts is in place. Maintain files on contracts, bids.

4. Supplier analysis and service improvement and development

- Conduct supplier visits / evaluations to determine suitability

- Co-ordinate supplier performance meetings with BU stakeholders

- Identify supplier KPI failures and develop action plans for improvement

- Develop new supply base for category benefits

Key Accountabilities

Sourcing Vendors for categories/sub-categories handled

Identify competent vendors from:

- current vendor database

- other colleagues

- stake-holders

- industry

- websites

- journals

- visits to exhibitions

Usage of sourcing tools

Use sourcing tools like:

- e-tools like Reverse Auction /eRFQ /eRFI to obtain optimal costs for required quality, quantity as per allocation, packaging and other criteria required

- Conduct Sourcing and decide option of vendor/s for the required product or/and service

- ensure optimal/complete usage of Ariba

Follow-up for Production, product/service delivery

- follow-up for timely production & delivery within shortest time-frame possible.

- Identify & resolve problems for product/service delivery

- Interface with other departments to drive efficiency.

Funding The Growth

Early involvement with stake-holders to bring in:

- Effectiveness & efficiency

- value savings

- Cost-Avoidance per determined goals for each year.

- Upload savings & cost avoidance in e-Savings database, tabulate and communicate to all concerned.

Overall - to manage stakeholders - requirements to achieve through best sourcing strategy

KEY CHALLENGES

The challenge for the role holder is to deliver projects in time with cost saving for that particular plant. Aligning different stakeholders and ensuring that all the projects are executed and implemented on time. Take lead role in synchronizing the site procurements and maximize categorization and central procurement.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE

- MBA (Operations Management), Engineering Degree or Post Graduation Degree

- 4-5 years of experience in Supply Chain function / Procurement in a FMCG / related organization

- Project management expertise and experience fields like supplier processes
