ROLE PROFILE :
Job Title: Procurement Manager
Reports to: Procurement Manager- India
Location: Mysore
No of Direct Reports: 4
No of Indirect Reports: 3
SUMMARY :
- To devise the best strategy for the procurement function
- To negotiate the best price and also better payment terms for all the categories of materials Viz. Raw materials, packaging materials, Process materials.
- To monitor price trends and to provide knowledge about the economic trends of various materials. This monitoring also helps in better negotiation.
- To fix the share of the business of each supplier and to advise the tactical team.
- To maintain Supplier relationship.
- Engage effectively in New Supplier Development, Alternative Supplier Development, and indigenization, for the benefits to the company and also reduced lead time.
- To coordinate with other functions in the supply chain to ensure smooth flow of information and materials.
- Responsible for Material master creation, Purchase info Record etc;
- To ensure the price, terms, and conditions finalized are conveyed to the tactical team for the placement of purchase order.
- To negotiate the best deal for Capex items and to advise the plants regarding rationalization and commonizing the best practices in non - production spends (NPs).
- Responsible for maintaining approved supplier list. To prepare and monitor the - Supplier Rating- . To convey to the supplier for the betterment of their performances.
- Responsible for carrying out Supplier audits as per yearly audit schedule in coordination with Manager - Supplier Quality. Also, the carryout Supplier Audit for new suppliers.
- Responsible for managing Co-packers.
- To concentrate in value engineering & cost savings activities and ensure the benefits are achieved by the company.
SCOPE / DIMENSIONS OF ROLE :
- Liaising with Corporate, Follow corporate/global policies
- Needs to influence a wide range of business functions who are not direct reports
- Responsible for many concurrent projects
- Influencing and offering expertise to all functions within the business
- Leadership of the supply aspects of new supplier development, Alternative Supplier Development, and indigenization projects
- Interacts with people from multiple levels in the business from shop floor to senior executives - must have and develop the ability to interact with this wide range of people
- Leadership and development of team members
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- To adhere to the Objectives of Material Department and ensure, activities are oriented towards the same. To ensure that the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, MHRA, OHSAS 18001 regulations and such other international Standards are implemented and Maintained.
- To ensure that the SAP systems are properly followed at all levels to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
- To ensure that weekly & Monthly Reporting is on time
- To ensure timely delivery
KEY CHALLENGES :
- Making efficient and best use of resource to ensure business requirement meet tight, often Stretched deadlines
- Co-ordination of cross-business project teams
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE :
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in reading the market
- Talent in negotiations and networking
- Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
- Management degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
