Regional Logistics Head - Courier (8-15 yrs)
ABOUT YOUR ROLE:
The Regional Logistic Manager will be responsible for strategic / tactics direction roll out on Freight practices in India & APAC, providing valuable expert insights concerning requirements, demand-offer, modes, network design, utilization, cost, contracts, and INCOTERMS. And together with the commodity buyers and SCM will work on the rollout of the Global Supplier Standard Manual. The role will be responsible for total Freight cost in the region and will need to drive continuous improvement across the region to drive efficiency in Freight, duties and other logistics costs.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Will analyze freight capacity and demand for the different transportation modes (ocean, road, rail, and air) identifying if applicable alternative modes with a cost/service benefits, to select the optimum mode and frequency.
- Drive & maintain an annual review of all freight expenditures and contracts to ensure the organization is operating at the best competitive logistics costs.
- Create & maintain a catalog of all existing paid routes, as well the routes paid by suppliers, origin and destination, cost per mile, cost per hour, truck type, trailer/ container sizes, network details; and based on that develop analysis to identify opportunities to support new quotes.
- Will monitor with Finance the accruals of freight cost into the correct accounts; will play a key role to coordinate local teams and to develop 3-year Freight Forecast Budgets.
- Will implement with local teams, maintain and drive improvements on KPIs for Freight and Truckload efficiency.
- Will design and establish networks plans (one way/round trips/ milk-run / consolidation/rub & spoke, sweet spots), define trailer/container size, specify the scope of logistics requirements and contracts, select carriers, quote and negotiate rates.
- Interact with Indirect Purchasing to document Contracts and Due Diligences, ensure purchasing procedures are followed on Freight/Logistics contracts.
- Will collect required information and provide the transportation network design and freight cost; as well work along with the Packing Engineers (Packaging design and cost), Supply Chain Engineer (Storage and Inventory) and SCM Compliance Manager (brokerage & duty tariffs) on the calculation of the landed cost and/or free to manufacturing cost, supporting quote phase and across the whole development and set up of Product Launch networks.
- Work with Trade compliance teams to ensure that organization is taking all possible benefits of various export incentives and FTAs.
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
- Minimum 8 years of working experience on freight management, preferably on the Logistics industry and demonstrated track records on the network set up, in-depth knowledge of freight costs and different modes of transportation, international lanes and transit times.
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering / International Business / Supply Chain Management / Logistics.
- Excellent communication in English, both written and spoken and local language
- Able to travel regionally up to 50% of the time and attend Global meetings in the different time zone when required.
- Excellent understanding of overall Supply Chain processes in a manufacturing industry.
- Teamwork experience across functions and geographies to drive stated objectives
