ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : 

Will be responsible to :

- Provide considerable in-depth technical knowledge and expertise on complex major projects requiring cutting-edge innovative, original solutions.

- Develop and implement best practice engineering vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.

- Understand the Engineering and Project requirements, mutually agree and integrate it in a Design solution.

- Lead the development of features and designs for future energy storage solutions & vehicle solutions.

- Develop and implement engineering design solutions in-house, with suppliers or academia for future technologies.

- Develop technical specifications and supplier documentation for new technologies & new products.

- Perform design analysis and product evaluations for future technology & new products.

- Responsible for rapid prototyping, specifying requirements and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, testing and control of features, as well as a high level of independent judgement.

- Provide technical expertise of the product features to personnel supporting the assigned projects.

- Lead advanced technical work that develops new technologies and/or product features, Validate components as per defined engineering requirements.

- Lead the development of new features and system requirements.

- Strong judgement to build consensus, particularly in the face of competing design requirements.

- Produce design ideas, based on research, into technical plans for prototypes using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-assisted engineering (CAE) software.

- Analyze the design proposals and the technical information in order to identify the issues arising during product development, defining and implementing adequate solutions in order to reach a feasible proposal with a high form and aesthetic quality.

- Attend design reviews to present design ideas and to discuss and critique alternative design solutions.

- Subject matter expert on systems under specialty and with a detailed understanding of how systems interact.

- Prepare Cost proposals & SOPS.

- Carry out simulations of products & process for new and prototype product/projects using software for the customer and provide support and feedback on design.

- Plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Estimate, track and complete projects & product developments on time and within budget.

- Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends.

- Manage activities of a complex nature where there are limited precedents.

- Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems.

- Responsible to Build & maintain document library & database for all designs, drawings and project wise technical data.

- Create and release engineering documentation using PLM PDM software like ProE Windchill. (Design, Drawings, Bill of material, and Specifications).

- Develop concepts, design/select develop components along with suppliers, develop component specifications for electrical, electronics, and electro-mechanical devices, DFMEA, and test plan.

- Building high-performance Test frameworks for internal tests and Test systems for EOL Testing

- Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.

SKILLS :

- Modeling and design mechanical components and assemblies including plastics, sheet metal, heat sinks, insulation systems, magnetic components, high voltage connectors, fasteners, and other components.

- Electro-mechanical design analysis including thermal, FEA, CFD, structural, design for assembly, and design for test.

Solve electronics packaging issues including: electrical isolation, sealing, thermal management, interconnection, shock and vibration management, electromagnetic interference (EMI), etc.

- Design air- and liquid-cooling solution for Lithium Batteries and optimize the designs.

- Research and benchmark competitive technologies in the area of Electrification (Battery pack Engineering).

- Design product by considering applicable mechanical standards (ARAI, Autosar, ISO26262, SAE, ISO)

- Experience designing packaging for electronic assemblies including in-depth understanding of relevant component fabrication processes.

- Deep understanding of material science of components used in mechanical design (metals, insulators, plastics, connectors, gaskets, thermal interface materials, potting, etc.).

- Proficiency using 3D mechanical design and analysis tools (CATIA, ANSYS, Solid Works and similar tools).

- Knowledge of finite element analysis, and design for reliability concepts.

- Experience with engineering changes, deviations, BOM structuring, etc.

- Experience with environmental, reliability, safety, and industry standard requirements for automotive, industrial & residential products.

- Basic understanding of electrical design fundamentals.

- Familiarity with PCBAs and electronic components.

- Design of on-board systems, structural elements, body elements or mechanical parts.

- AUTO- CAD, PTC Creo, ANSYS, Solid Works

ALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

- B.E / M.E. - Mechanical

- 8-10 years (Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Batteries)
