Job Summary :
The Safety Head is responsible for overseeing and leading all aspects of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management within the organization. This role involves developing, implementing, and managing HSE policies, programs, and initiatives to ensure the safety and well-being of employees, contractors, and the environment. The Safety Head will work closely with various departments to establish a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization.

HSE Strategy :
- Develop and execute the organization's HSE strategy, including long-term goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Policy Development :
- Create and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with local, state, and federal regulations.
Compliance :
- Ensure that the organization complies with all applicable HSE laws, regulations, and standards.
Risk Assessment :
- Identify, assess, and mitigate potential HSE risks within the organization's operations and projects.
Training and Education :
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees, contractors, and other stakeholders, covering topics such as hazard recognition, incident reporting, and emergency response.
Incident Management :
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, near-miss events, and environmental incidents to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
HSE Reporting :
- Maintain accurate records of HSE-related incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions, and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.
Emergency Preparedness :
- Develop and implement emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and crisis management strategies.
Audits and Inspections :
- Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections to ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and follow up on corrective actions.
Environmental Sustainability :
- Implement environmental sustainability programs and initiatives, including waste reduction, energy conservation, and pollution prevention.
HSE Communication :
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship by communicating HSE updates, initiatives, and best practices to all employees.
Budget Management :
- Manage the HSE department's budget, including resource allocation for HSE initiatives and projects.
Regulatory Liaison :
- Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies regarding HSE matters and permits.
Continuous Improvement :
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in HSE and implement improvements accordingly.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Environmental Manager) is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in HSE management, with a proven track record of leadership.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in HSE management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
