Role Description

Job Purpose

- Assure industrial health & Safety of employees at plant through awareness among employees, audits & inspection, etc.

Primary Responsibilities

Business Responsibility Areas

Training and Employee involvement

- Conduct safety Induction program for all new joinees and continuous training programs for all employees working in the plant

- Conduct Mock drills for emergency situations

- Attend safety meetings in the plant and close safety points of such meetings

- Communicate safety arrangements through Displays, Safety Signs, In House Magazines, Safety Literature, Annual Plant Safety Performance Report etc.

- Participate in safety goal/target setting, improvement project, Safety Suggestion Scheme, Safety Promotional activities etc.

Safety Audits and Inspections

- Conduct safety inspections and share observation report on daily basis

- Oversee statutory inspection for all lifting tools& tackles and pressure vessels through third party

- Comply to ESS and GRC portal

- Participate in safety audits and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for observations of safety audits

- process of hazard identification and risk assessment

- Conduct Job safety analysis for construction activities

- Conduct statutory assessment of contractor from safety point of view

- Control contractors through regular monitoring, reward & penalty system and performance review of Contractor

- Inspect all safety equipment and maintain the same

Safety and fire Control system

- Ensure good health of safety guards, safety interlocks, hand tools and power tools in the plant

- Ensure 100% compliance with work permit system and safe isolation procedure

- Observe and control hazardous substances at the plant

- Procure and maintain personal protective equipment at the plant

- Monitor noise, ventilation and dust at workplace

- Inspect electrical equipment and installation

- Assess fire risk at plant

- Maintain firefighting equipment

Safety performance & measurement

- Report all incidents including near miss on ESS

- Investigate all incidents including near miss and maintain data of incident trend analysis

- Recognize and manage Potential Loss Areas

Workplace safety

- Ensure hygiene & 5S at workplace

100% coverage of employees for induction

No violation with permit / LOTO system

100% reporting of incidents

Attend assigned safety meetings

Minimum 2 TBT in a day

Participate in assigned HIRA

Assure 1 man-day/ year

100% compliance with ESS inspections

Conduct safety week celebration each year

Assure all time availability of appropriate PPEs

No fire accident at site

Zero NC in audits

100 % compliance with ESS & GRC

100% compliance with statutory requirements

Role Requirements / Specifications

Qualifications Essential

- Graduation and diploma in Industrial safety

Desired

- Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical

Previous Experience Essential

- Should have 1-2 yrs experience in industrial safety

Desired

- Preferably in process safety
