Section Head - Stores Operations (7-10 yrs)
Job Purpose :
- Custody of goods related to Refinery, CPP and mines at main stores and sub stores. Ensuring material receiving, unloading, stacking, coordinate for inspection/checking, GRN preparation, scrutinizing of MIVs, issue of material, update data in ERP system, maintaining inventory level for stores control items, following BPS guideline, report preparation, MIS creation, Inventory optimization, following FIFO.
- Avoid stock out situation, detection payment of transporters and ensure zero accidents, maintain proper housekeeping and prevent fire. Ensuring disposal of waste and scrape items, following statutory norms, coordinating compliance with railway claims for shortages and re conciliation. Periodically physical verification by third party of MRO items and Raw Material, submission and approval of shortages/excess goods from management
Job Context :
- Establish a system driven process for receipt of MRO and Raw Material, keeping record and custody of all goods, maintain good housekeeping practices, coordinating with other group units to adopt best practices in line with management expectations, Timely processing GRNs, SRNs of transporters, Tracking of Returnable gate pass, rejection of goods and follow up for return of goods within stipulated time frame, Development of scrap yard, stacking of goods commodity wise, opening tenders, negotiation as per disposal SOP, ensure to keep scrap yard well maintained and timely disposal of unwanted goods.
- Developing best practices in main stores and mines stores, BPS 2 AI implementation, update dashboard reports to management, monitoring Inventory on monthly basis, focusing on life of inventory, keeping provision as per management guide line, facing management audit, Physical verification of goods on quarter basis, updates of shortages/excess of goods and provision of the same. Focused on system improvement and continuous development on housekeeping by following 5S standards in storage areas.
Major Challenges :
- Inventory reduction - To maintain optimum level of inventory, focusing on self-life of goods, following FIFO physically and in ERP, report generation from ERP, posting of all MIS during the month and to maintain zero provision in books of account.
- System development - Development of store for upcoming expansion project, creating Bins for all available inventory goods, update Bin number in ERP, maintaining stock level of VIM based items, coordination with user, concern buyer and supplier for booking of monthly consumption,
- Team Building - Development of sub ordinate and prepare second line ready to take any challenges set by unit management. Motivate team mates to get desired output and development of individuals.
- Strategic decision - Dealing with local traders for timely lifting of scrap, lime bags, drums and e-waste, ensure following statutory norms for disposal of Lime grit and fly ash to the local brick manufacturers, maintain accident free culture.
