PURPOSE

Design robust, high performance high temperature furnaces and system products. Integrate the physical design requirements (structural, thermal, insulation, criticality and operations) and manufacturing aspects of all new equipment development to produce designs that meet all applicable requirements for the form, fit and function

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY :

The incumbent will pro-actively work with the engineering, sourcing and production staff to prepare and release to all stakeholders - electronic sketches, drawings and other technical documents within the governing quality assurance program, stipulated time and procedures.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Lead a team of design engineers and assist in the design and development of systems and components.

2. Interface with engineering staff effectively to ensure the form, fit and function of designs while also working with product, sourcing, quality and production managers to ensure cost effectiveness and manufacturability of designs.

3. Collaborate with the design engineers to produce design sketches and drawings in accordance with applicable standards. Accurately incorporate welding symbols and tolerances into design drawings.

4. Originate and/or review structural analyses, prototype test processes, operations procedures, and reports using computer-aided engineering (CAE) and appropriate computer software.

5. Review and verify design drawings and other technical documentation prepared by others to ensure correctness and accuracy in form, fit and function.

6. Ensure smooth flow of handover of concept of equipments from product team to production.

7. Keep track of project flow of around 20 small and medium projects every year and bring visibility in team about progress.

8. Standardize new projects and documentation for easy execution in future.

9. Continuously coordinate with sourcing and vendors to develop specification for new projects.

10. Coordinate with R&D to execute high end projects involving critical factors e.g. temperature, air velocity, pressure, etc.

11. Periodically assist product team for budgeting new enquiries and making concept drawing.

12. Suggest innovation and technology upgradation in furnaces and system products to attract customers and enhance life cycle of product

13. Suggest and implement IoT features in furnaces and system products for unmanned operability.

14. Ensure smooth invoicing and handover of furnaces and system products to customer without design faults.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :

1. Associates or Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline required.

2. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in automated drafting and 3-D Modeling CAE systems required. Experience with Autodesk Inventor preferred.

3. Hands-on experience with design, engineering and/or fabrication of small and medium sized machinery components preferred.

4. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Writing must be clear and unambiguous.

5. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

6. Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach for generating new ideas.

7. An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles.

8. Ability to work smoothly with several departments.

PREFERRED SKILLS :

Mechanical AutoCAD, Solid Works -2015, mechanical design, basic electrical engineering, MS office, inducted in industrial furnace, product knowledge of electrical heating, general furnace, furnace insulation, structural engineering. Must be conversant with mechanical design and drawing, basic electrical circuit diagram
