Role Overview :
- As a Senior Engineer at our company, specialising in the design and research of electric vehicle (EV) chargers, you will be instrumental in shaping the mechanical aspects of our products, particular focusing on the structural design and associated components. Your core responsibilities will involve leveraging CAD software to conceive innovative designs, meticulously evaluating spatial requirements, and creating detailed drawings. Collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers is essential to ensure seamless integration of components into our EV chargers. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role during the RFQ phase, diligently scrutinizing technical specifications with suppliers to ensure alignment with our design standards.
- Active participation in our agile team is imperative, where you will effectively manage tasks using project management tools, prioritise work through backlog management, and oversee product documentation and release processes. Moreover, you will be tasked with troubleshooting challenges in existing products and promptly addressing any quality issues that may arise, ensuring continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

- Over 5 years of experience in mechanical design and automotive product development, preferably in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of industry standards and best practices.
- Demonstrated proficiency in material selection, encompassing a comprehensive knowledge of plastics, sheet metals, and materials compatible with processes such as injection moulding, vacuum casting, 3D printing, as well as metal processing techniques and paints.
- Capable of discerning and selecting the most suitable materials based on distinct use cases and performance criteria.
- Experience in conducting simulations and creating both 2D and 3D drawings to support design validation and communication.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) processes.
- Expertise in thermal flow analysis to optimise designs for efficient heat dissipation and component longevity.
- Strong documentation skills and the ability to maintain comprehensive records throughout the design and development process.
- Hands-on experience in the automotive industry and a background in lab testing are preferred.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
