Job purpose :

This role will research and create design proposals for new products, or improving existing tensioner products. Demonstrates understanding of application and synchronisation with design activities to ensure customer satisfaction with first time right product design.

Role Title- Product Design(Senior Design Engineer)

Reports to Tensioner Development Head

Department- Tensioner Development

Responsibilities :

- Designing, modelling, and testing products using CAD software and 3D modelling

- Assessing the viability of production methods and materials to ensure product feasibility from an economic standpoint

- Share innovative design and conclude design activities for products in line with customer specific requirements

- Ensure all aspects of DFMEA are followed during product design process

- Do simulation and analysis of design models to predict product performance under various conditions

- Understand needs and expectations of customer including customer specific requirement and adhere the same in Design

- Prepare all 2D, 3D drawing for customer requirements and forward to Tensioner Head for approval

- Study of various product related standards as well as focus on changes as well as new requirements against the same in all product mix

- Promote Research case studies and support team for working towards the same

- Focus on Design specific trouble shooting in customer complaints as applicable

- Focus on testing and validation specification of test rig and review it with benchmarking analysis

- Ensure all benchmarking done in line with requirements and submit reports to Tensioner Head accordingly

- Initiate specifications for New testing and validations

- Risk analysis to be conducted in every product mix Design

- Review of Techno-commercial aspects in product design

- Attend customer complaint review meeting as and when communicated

- Collaborating with research and development teams to incorporate usability and marketability into product designs

- Work with regulatory bodies to ensure all designs meet industry-specific compliance and safety standards

- Do design calculation like Spring Calculation, Tolerance stack up, and Basic Engineering calculation.

- Prepare Design validation plan(DVP) and Test Report as per the requirement.

- Track design changes and contribute to overall improvement of product and its design

Graduate in Mechanical Engineering

Industry :

Automotive Industry, Rubber Industry

Addnl. Qualification :

Post Graduate in Mechanical Engineering, Certification courses, Diploma on AUTO CAD, PRO-E, Simulation Software etc

Experience : Min 5 Years
