Senior Engineering Role - Energy Yield Analysis & DC Design (6-9 yrs)
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Engineer - Energy Yield Analysis & DC Design in our engineering and design team for delivering cutting-edge solar power solutions for AMPYR's European and American platforms. The Senior Engineer - Energy Yield Analysis & DC Design will be responsible for energy yield analysis and DC design, from concept to commissioning, for solar power projects within designated countries/region. This role requires expertise in PV Syst software, DC engineering principles, and attention to detail to ensure high quality design output that meets industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed energy yield simulations using PVsyst for solar PV plants, including hybrid systems with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), to support off take agreements and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) bids.
- Model and optimize hybrid solar + storage systems, ensuring effective integration of BESS to maximize energy output, storage utilization, and financial returns for PPA bids or off take participations.
- Gather and analyze meteorological data, site conditions, and system design parameters to ensure accurate inputs for yield predictions, including for bids and contractual agreements.
- Review system layouts, electrical configurations, and shading analysis for both solar and hybrid systems, optimizing plant performance and aligning designs with PPA requirements.
- Identify and quantify losses in PV and BESS systems, while conducting risk analysis related to yield uncertainty and weather variability to inform PPA and off take agreements.
- Recommend strategies for optimizing plant design, energy dispatch, and system configurations to enhance yield, reduce losses, and maximize financial returns for PPA bids.
- Prepare detailed yield reports, including sensitivity and risk analyses, for stakeholders involved in off take agreements, PPA bids, and investment decisions.
- Work closely with engineering, legal, and commercial teams to ensure yield models align with PPA terms, bid strategies, and overall project feasibility.
- Compare predicted yields with actual performance, updating models and improving future forecasts for both PV and hybrid systems.
- Assist in improving internal tools for energy yield estimation, optimization, and bid scenario modeling, including BESS integration.
- Ensure that all yield predictions comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements for both solar and hybrid systems.
- Stay updated on the latest PV, BESS, and hybrid technology trends, industry developments, and PVsyst software enhancements to improve yield accuracy and system performance.
