Position: Sr. Group Manager, NPI Supply Chain (30B)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Years of Experience: Min 15 - 18 years Supply Chain Management / Commodity management in Engineering / Manufacturing Industry and > 10 Years in managing NPI Supply Chain
Job Experience:
- Leading a team of Commodity Managers / Supply Chain Managers in large manufacturing operations groups for MNC product-based company.
- Familiarity with semiconductor, Electrical equipment Manufacturing or high-technology supply management practices, standards, and organizations.
- Has managed other Managers, and has previously been responsible for group of >20 people
Educational: B. E / B.Tech or M.E / M.Tech (Mechanical / Electrical / Production) or MBA
Willing to work in shift: 1:30 PM - 10:30 PM (Willing to work in any shift)
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Sr. Manger, NPI Materials manages a team of Technical Program Managers and Project Managers through all stages of product development from R&D to volume manufacturing transition ensuring PDR (Product Development and Release) deliverables are completed with high quality and within programs timeline. Transform engineering innovation to volume ready product with agility, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Accountable for establishing a materials supply chain meeting performance, cost, quality, capacity, and on-time delivery requirements of products
- Acts as point of contact for all escalations from Product group to Supply Chain, liaison between Engineering Product management and Supply Chain functional organization
- Works in a cross -functional team environment within a matrix organization with internal customers, including high level executives
- Define and monitor metrics in line with AOP (annual operating plan) objectives relative to supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement; then drives team to address and close gaps to meet objectives
- The role will also require flawless delivery of activities resulting in highest level of product and service quality as viewed through the eyes of customers.
- Organization and Talent Development: Select, develop, and retain an inclusive team with a strong bias for achievement, agility, confidence in managing risk in a dynamic environment, and systemic approach to problem solving.
- Lead team of Material Program Managers, Project Service Managers with Key deliverables around:
- Developing cost reductions roadmaps in order to meet product cost targets
- Working with Supply Chain on developing sourcing strategies and sourcing plans in order to meet cost and lead time targets
- Ensuring On-time material deliveries to engineering need dates and drop dead date for Pilot manufacturing
- ECR communication, buyer assignments for new parts, first article status for critical parts before shipments
- Material Purchasing for Pilot builds
Other Job Responsibilities:
- Influence product design by applying expertise in manufacturability, test, supply chain, and cost
- Manage and lead team to close material shortages and enable new part introduction for Pilot builds
- Work collaboratively with supply chain and engineering stakeholders; develop supplier selection process for piece parts or outsourced assemblies and identify supply chain risks supporting sourcing decisions.
- Responsible for resolving discrepancies between cost targets and quoted costs, creates and delivers presentations to program executives and CFT stakeholders
- Fundamental understanding of should-cost or cost allocation & recognizes opportunities to improve product design for cost/quality/delivery by early supplier involvement.
Mandatory Skills & Requirement:
- Proven ability to gain partnerships and in a cross-functional environment with Sourcing, New product introduction, manufacturing, quality as well as procurement, finance, and product support.
- Prior experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams of Supply Chain Sourcing and other process
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods and commodities as related to cost structure
- Supply chain knowledge, especially for critical commodities as related to sourcing decisions and cost strategies
- Additional required skills include leadership skills, strategic thinking, attention to detail for everyday tactical execution, and excellent people management
- Demonstrated skill in decision making and problem solving and experience in making business judgments
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning - setting vision and objectives, creating strategies, forecasting, and budgeting
- Demonstrated experience in talent and organization development
- Familiar with and uses Quality Principles such as Lean, Six-Sigma, etc
Desirable Skills & Requirement :
- Some experience with product design and development, engineering principles
- Experience in capital equipment industry, e.g., semiconductors, medical equipment, construction equipment, etc
- Proficient in Data Analytics & Presentation Skills
- Six sigma green belt or above is a plus
