Frontier X, our patented product that provides real-time feedback on cardiac health, saw a multi-fold growth in sales over the past years. The senior hardware engineer for ECG wearable devices will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing the hardware components of innovative wearable devices that monitor and track electrocardiogram (ECG) signals.

- This role requires deep expertise in hardware engineering, particularly in wearable technology and biomedical applications. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware with software, while also focusing on product performance, reliability, and user experience.

Responsibilities:

- Hardware Design & Development: Lead the design and development of ECG sensing circuits, analog/digital interfaces, and wearable device components including BLE, ensuring high accuracy and low power consumption.

- Prototype & Test: Create and prototype new hardware designs, conduct thorough testing and validation, and iterate designs based on performance data.

- Integration with Firmware/Software: Work closely with firmware/software engineers to ensure smooth integration of hardware with firmware, ensuring real-time ECG data acquisition, signal processing, and transmission.

- Battery Optimization: Design power-efficient solutions for long-lasting battery life and ensure the device operates efficiently with minimal power consumption.

- Compliance & Regulatory Requirements: Ensure all hardware designs comply with medical device standards (such as FDA, CE, and IEC) and industry regulations. Lead the regulatory testing to ensure compliance to the various applicable testing. Work closely with RAQAC and other teams ensuring QMS compliance.

- Collaboration & Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers, collaborate with other teams (software, industrial design, product management), and support the product lifecycle from concept to production.

- R&D and Innovation: Stay current with advancements in wearable technology, ECG sensing methods, and hardware design to bring cutting-edge solutions to market.

- Manufacturing Support: Provide technical guidance during the manufacturing process, ensuring high-quality production standards are met and addressing any engineering issues that arise.

- Debugging: Use test and measurement apparatus, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, communication protocol analyzers, and signal generators, to ensure that firmware functions per design requirements.

- Quality: Strive for top quality results and continuously look for ways to improve and enhance system reliability, performance, security and automation

Requirements:

- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.

- Experience: 5+ years of experience in PCB design, with a specific focus on high- performance, low-power electronics in wearable or medical device applications.

- PCB Design Tools Expertise: Proficiency with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence, KiCad) for schematic capture, layout, and simulation.

- Signal Integrity & EMC: Deep understanding of signal integrity, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and methods for reducing noise in high-precision analog circuits (especially ECG signals).

- DFM/DFA: Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to ensure smooth transition from prototype to mass production.

- PCB Fabrication Knowledge: Strong understanding of PCB fabrication processes, including materials, layer stackup, impedance control, via technology, and surface-mount technology (SMT).

- Testing & Troubleshooting: Skilled in using lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators) to validate circuit designs and troubleshoot issues during prototyping and testing.

- Regulatory Standards: Familiarity with regulatory standards and certifications (FDA, CE, RoHS, ISO 13485) applicable to medical device hardware.

- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts and design considerations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desired:

- Experience with Wearable Devices or ECG Sensors: Prior experience working with wearable technology (BLE) or bio-sensing devices, particularly ECG-based sensors, is highly advantageous.

- 3D CAD Knowledge: Familiarity with 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) for integration with mechanical designs in wearable form factors.

- Manufacturing Process Knowledge: Understanding of SMT processes, PCB assembly techniques, and quality control protocols in a production environment.

- Power Management Circuit Design: Experience in designing power-efficient circuits, especially in battery-operated devices, and optimizing battery life in compact designs.

- Embedded Experience: Prior experience in developing/bringing up embedded software for memory-constrained and low-power systems.

This position offers an opportunity to lead the development of advanced, high-precision hardware that drives the next generation of ECG wearable devices, focusing on innovative PCB design and seamless manufacturing to deliver reliable, high-performance health monitoring solutions.
