Job Description :
1. Trend Forecast
- Get involved in primary & secondary research on Fashion & Lifestyle trends
- Travel to local/international market
- Call out all colors/fabrics/silhouette/product innovation/ornamentation relevant to areas of Design and note the key takeaways.
2. Market Research and Feedback
- Retail Research/Feedback - should dedicate a significant amount of time per month (2 days a month) to visit Competitive brands: (Standalone Stores, Department Stores) and TRADITIONAL RETAIL : (Important Multi Brand Outlets MBOs Mom & Pop Stores) ) to obtain regular market feedback on best sellers and recently launched products
- Competition Product Tracking/Movement support to the Business Head - A continuous effort must be made to monitor all the competitors products in the market place
3. Time and Action Planning/Calendar
- To assist with the development and sign-off of all product within the given calendar, ensuring best quality is maintained
4. Season Concept
- Work closely with Business Head to set strategic direction and guide the team on creating the seasonal concept
- To ensure commercial viability/fashion sensibility and reinstatement of the consumer value proposition and brand promise
5. Line Creation
- Liaison with the technical team and costing teams to understand costing/commercial viability of the merchandise and alter the designs as required.
- To ensure timely presentation of the Season line/collection through storyboards / mood boards for the upcoming season for the respective categories.
- To ensure maximum sample/ actual strike off in correct quality availability for the Storyboard and Range review meetings
6. Merchandising/Buying
- Monitor creation of quality storyboards and facilitate timely uploads on the PLM
- In case of sourcing the product from manufacturers understanding the buying cycle
- To ensure timely approvals as per T&A
- To actively participate in buying activities/process.
