Key Responsibilities :

- Leading a team of engineers and designers with oversight of space, resources, systems, work practices and safety program.

- Delivering quality Instrumentation design on a capital project while meeting cost and schedule objectives.

- Developing & improving the work processes to be used by all the team members.

- Ensuring effective work processes and procedures are in place and are being followed to execute the work.

- Workhour estimations for the instrumentation portion of the capital projects, either Indigenous or workshare with lead offices.

- Developing Instrumentation work load forecasting and managing process.

- Coordination with the engineers and designers from other engineering disciplines to ensure timeliness and quality of all the design deliverables on a capital project.

- Ensuring balanced utilization of the resources to meet project objective

- Providing overall discipline leadership and coordination in their functional processes on projects of various sizes and complexities.

- Developing processes and procedures for coordination of design work with other discipline engineers and designers.

- Guiding engineers and designers during conceptual design stage and also while preparation of production design deliverables

Qualification :

- Bachelors / Master's Degree in Instrumentation engineering. 

- Minimum of 20 years work experience in Instrumentation Design; preferably with consulting engineering companies. 

- Experience in engineering of the instrumentation systems for chemicals, petrochemical, mineral and metals plants are preferred.

- Reasonably good experience in application of computer aided design tools such as SPI, PDMS, SP3D, Microstation, AutoCAD etc.

Hands on experience in following :

1) Preparation of specifications for all Instrumentation equipment like DCS, Field Instruments, Public Address System, CCTV, Cables etc.

2) Knowledge of international standards such as:

- BIS/DIM/BS/JIS 

- International Electro-Technical Commission( IEC)

- Instrument Society of America (ISA) 

- Strong leadership skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; willing to delegate.

- Good understanding of the business, the technology and manufacturing process.

- Results oriented and disciplined to follow project processes and best practices.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
