The R&D Centre of Is located at Silvassa and it has further expansion plan to extend its facilities at Chennai. It caters to the global needs of International Group companies in the area of lubricants development. It has comprehensive testing facilities and provides right environment to contribute and grow.

The position will offer an opportunity to develop new products with customer benefits driven by important stake holders such as Original Equipment Manufacturers(OEM), Customer, Regulatory bodies and alternate formulations to reduce costs and/or improve logistics flexibility.

The position will support to technical team and marketing & sales team in the product validation and introduction new products for sustained business growth by coordinating and maintaining relationships with OEM/Internal Customers/External Customers.

The role will be custodian of the Intellectual properties and will be responsible for safekeeping, retrieval and presentation.

The position will be responsible for guiding the team reporting to it with necessary soft skills and will also be responsible of financial planning and management of the laboratory.

The person occupying the position will take lead in setting up the new facilities at existing location, as well as setting up the new laboratory at different location.

The person will be responsible for implementation of Quality Systems and will ensure compliance to Health, Safety and Environment guidelines in the R&D laboratory.

This role will require a good mix of functional and leadership skills.The ability to quickly master new skills and activate these is very important.

This job demands domestic and foreign travel whenever needed.

Key Job Responsibilities:

- Product Development

- Identification of target products

- Development of new products

- Development of alternate formulation of existing products

- Customer benefits development

- Product Validation

- Support the technical team in Field Trials and OEM approvals

- Co-ordinate with OEM/Internal Customers/External Customers for product evaluation and business growth

- Management of Technology

- Maintaining and Safe-keeping of intellectual properties with ease of retrieval.

- Taking lead in accreditation of R&D laboratory

- Preparation, management and monitoring of Capital and Revenue Budget

- Procurement and Installation of new test facilities

- Help in setting up of new laboratory of global standard

- Development of efficient and appropriate test methods, whenever necessary.

- Management of mid size team

- Quality Management Systems and HSE

- Implementation appropriate Quality Management Systems

- Ensuring compliance to HSE policies

- Evaluation of task risk and job hazard analysis and safe handling of hazardous chemicals and implementation of lean processes wherever applicable

- Learning and Growth

- Conducting training programs for employees and external customers

- Assisting in developing technical literatures
