Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead Design & Development of Combined Brake System. (Disc-Disc /Disc-Drum/Drum-Drum).
- Design & development of Braking System for scooters & motorcycle or Four Wheeler Platforms
- Perform design calculation for brake system sizing and predict brake performance by considering regulatory requirements (IS 14664, ECE R13H/ IS 15986)
- Layout/Packaging/Routing assembly tolerance stack-up, 3D modelling of brake components
- SPOC for brake system localization activity for any platform
- Responsible for Brake system performance tuning for localized source
- Responsible for tolerance stack-up, DFMEA, and DFM in brake system design o Involvement in benchmarking activities and teardown analysis to generate new ideas for cost targets
- Responsible for design improvements to address testing failures, assembly-related & preassembly- related issues
- Preparation of DVPs for component-level test & vehicle-level testing
- Conducted DFMEA for complete brake system component level & vehicle level
- Selection of proper master cylinder bore diameters to meet the brake fluid flow rates requirements o Finalizing the brake hose routing based on pedal travel requirements
- Designing & developing Proto level of front & rear brake disc from 410 DB SS material through Laser-cut route.
- Modification of the existing vehicle to package the 3 piston front caliper & rear hydraulic drum brake panel
- Preparation of mule vehicle for testing
- Collection of onboard vehicle level objective braking data through V-BOX as per IS 14664- 2010 o Subjective evaluation & rating of the braking system
- Joint evaluation of braking performance with OE's CFT team
- File patent on rear hydraulic drum brake with auto adjuster mechanism
- Conducting the APQP review for the customer-driven projects
