Job Summary:
The Inspection Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and safety regulations. This role involves performing regular inspections, coordinating with contractors and subcontractors, and maintaining documentation related to project progress and quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Inspections:
- Conduct regular inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, standards, and safety regulations.
- Identify any discrepancies or non-conformities and report them to the Project Manager.
2. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all materials and workmanship meet the specified quality standards.
- Monitor and document testing and inspection results for materials used in construction.
3. Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on site conditions and progress.
4. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and approvals, including daily logs, reports, and photographs.
- Prepare and submit quality control reports to the Project Manager.
5. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations on-site.
- Conduct safety audits and promote a culture of safety among site personnel.
6. Problem-Solving:
- Identify potential issues or delays and propose solutions to maintain project schedules.
- Act as a point of contact for resolving on-site technical issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., Engineer-in-Training, Licensed Professional Engineer) is a plus.
- Proven experience in construction inspection, quality control, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and safety regulations.
- Proficient in using inspection tools and software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent visits to construction sites.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical stamina may be required to perform inspections and walk the site.
