Job Description (JD):
The Senior General Manager for Inventory Control is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of inventory control and management within the mechanical machine manufacturing industry. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of the supply chain and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities Areas (KRAs) :
1. Inventory Management : Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize inventory levels, ensuring materials are available to meet production demands while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
2. Demand Forecasting : Collaborate with production, sales, and procurement teams to forecast demand and create accurate production schedules and purchase orders.
3. Inventory Tracking : Implement robust inventory tracking systems and technologies to monitor stock levels, reorder points, and lead times. Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting.
4. Cost Control : Monitor and control inventory-related costs, including storage, carrying costs, and potential obsolescence. Identify cost-saving opportunities.
6. Process Improvement : Continuously evaluate and enhance inventory management processes, seeking opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
7. Team Leadership : Manage a team of inventory control professionals, providing leadership, coaching, and training to ensure their productivity and performance.
8. Compliance and Regulations : Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, such as safety and environmental standards, and maintain accurate records for audits.
9. Inventory Analysis : Regularly analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and potential issues, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
10. Risk Management : Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address supply chain disruptions, shortages, and unforeseen challenges.
11. Reporting : Generate and present regular reports to senior management, summarizing inventory performance, goals, and any issues that need attention.
12. SAP Experience : Proficiency in using SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to manage and track inventory, along with the ability to leverage SAP's functionality for efficient inventory control.
13. Mechanical Engineering Qualification : A background in mechanical engineering, providing a strong foundation in understanding the technical aspects of the mechanical machine manufacturing industry, and the ability to bridge the gap between engineering and inventory management.
14. Continuous Improvement : Stay updated on industry best practices, technology advancements, and innovative solutions to keep the inventory management process efficient and competitive.
