Specialist - Environmental Safety Sustainability - Agricultural/Supply Chain Industry (8-17 yrs)
Job Description & Requirements
- As an E&S Sustainability specialist, you will work closely with the HOD to coordinate and implement strategies to ensure environmental compliance, assess supply chain risks, and enhance social welfare within Client. You will play a crucial role in driving the organization's commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
- Responsibilities:
- Environmental Safety Coordination: Collaborate with teams across multiple countries to gather information on environmental safety practices.
- Conduct supply chain risk assessments, focusing on environmental factors such as biodiversity and waste management benchmarks.
- Design and implement training programs to ensure staff compliance with environmental regulations.
- Social Welfare and Human Resources Support: Liaise closely with the HR team to address the welfare of laborers and contract workers.
- Develop and implement initiatives to improve social welfare and working conditions for employees.
- Collaborate with HR to integrate environmental and social considerations into the hiring and onboarding processes.
- Carbon Emission Calculation and Management: Calculate and monitor carbon emissions across the organization.
- Identify areas for emission reduction and develop strategies to achieve sustainability targets.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement carbon reduction initiatives.
- Policy Development and Improvement: Work on the development, improvement, and implementation of environmental and social impact policies.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates to ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices.
- Monitor policy compliance and provide guidance to teams to ensure adherence.
- Reporting and Performance Monitoring: Prepare comprehensive reports on environmental and social impact initiatives, progress, and outcomes.
- Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the organization's sustainability goals.
- Prepare data and documentation for external reporting and certification requirements, such as ECOVADIS ratings.
- Committee Meetings and Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate committee meetings related to environmental and social impact.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive sustainability initiatives.
- Represent the organization in seminars and conferences related to environmental and social impact.
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiatives:
- Support the development and implementation of CSR initiatives aligned Client's values and mission.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize CSR projects that contribute to environmental and social impact.
- Assist in coordinating community engagement programs, charitable activities, and partnerships to enhance Client's CSR footprint.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of CSR initiatives and provide recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience in environmental and social impact assessments, preferably within the agricultural or supply chain industry.
- Familiarity with international environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills to assess and report on environmental and social performance metrics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and presentation tools.
- Passion for environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
