Basic Functions & Responsibilities:

- Must have extensive experience with mechanical design, fabrication, welding, inspection, post weld heat treatment and testing of pressure vessels, columns and heat exchangers.

- Must have experience using PV ELITE software.

- Must have experience with analysis of external loads on nozzles and structural attachments such as clips, beam seats, trunnions, lugs, legs, skirts, saddles, etc.

- Experience with API 650 tanks is a plus.

- Must have extensive background knowledge and familiarity with ASME Section II, ASME Section VIII, Div.1 and ASTM Standards.

- Fully responsible for the technical work and conformance with job requirements.

- Provides overall supervision. Organizes work to comply with project requirements.

- Negotiates critical and controversial issues with top level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies.

- Prepares and updates the Department's Design Basis for a Project.

- Prepares material requisitions and technical input to subcontract packages.

- Assigns all juniors engineering work including checking of calculations, reviews engineering sketches.

- Checks drawings for conformity with design requirements. Stamps drawings as required.

- Ensures that drawing recheck is performed.

- Reviews other disciplines and vendor print inters quad drawings.

- Reviews and helps update the drawing schedule. Marks man-hour forecasts.

- Keeps the manager informed of any changes in staffing requirements.

- Ensure effective communications and co-ordinates between all mechanical team members and all other disciplines to ensure mutual awareness of requirements and sharing of information and common resources.

- Monitor overall productivity and efficiency of the project, forecast trends and anticipate potential problems and difficulties meeting milestones or budget within the mechanical discipline coordinate with the project team including all disciplines to resolve problems.

- Implement and maintain productivity targets for the mechanical team members, including monitoring of overtime and budgeted man hours.

- Conduct routine meetings with mechanical team to monitor the projects performance and assess their performance

- Review, provide inputs/comments on other discipline drawings and documents.
